I know that NYU is notoriously bad with assistance at the undergrad level, but does anyone know anything about NYU’s assistance at the graduate level (non-STEM)?

Aid for grad school anywhere is typically NOT need based. It is merit based. Aid is given based on the strength of your evaluation, and the schools desire to have you as a cohort in the program. Grad school aid comes in the form of assistantships, fellowships, scholarships, sometimes work study, and loans. Grad school students can take unsubsidized direct loans out in large amounts.

As a holder of 2 NYU grad degrees, if you are pursuing a Masters, NYU will give a token amount of $$ and the rest will be on you (fortunately in my case, the rest was on my employer from corporate life and our amazing tuition aid plan).

As thumper stated, at the grad level a person can literally borrow the entire cost of attendance as a gradplus loan.

I hope study in NYU
