I have a group of 6 girls who know we want to live in a 3rd north suite together. Does the housing form allow for this preference to be made?

if you know the names and N numbers of people you can request them as roommates no problem. but i don’t think it’s possible for 6 people to live in one room/suite. i think 3rd north is generally 4 and possibly 5 maximum.

I’m pretty sure that the rooms are 4-6 students. I read that on the NYU website. I just want to know if it’s possible to request a suite with a group of 6 if we know we want to be together.

I think it is possible. What you need is each person’s NYU ID# and each person has to put the other five people on their housing request form, I think. I recall that someone told my D that you are also supposed to (all of you!) email the housing office and request that you be made roomies with the other 5.

ah. i’ve never heard of a 6 person room but if they exist i’m sure you can request them!

Can someone tell me where and when an accepted Tisch student can get the NYU Housing Form? My D sent in her housing deposit along with her Acceptance form and has been waiting for information regarding housing. I have been letting her take charge of everything so far but I’m getting a bit concerned as everyone has filled some kind of questionnaire out, but my D hasn’t found it on the website. I thought something was coming via email, but it has been a few days since we received the welcome letter from Undergraduate office and no email to her address so far. Please help! Thanks.

We sent in d.'s deposit, but haven’t heard anything yet either.

We received it on Friday and sent the deposit in 2nd week of April. You have until the end of May to fill this out online.

I think you have to have your kid log into NYU Home and go to the housing forms and then they are filled out online. However, I honestly don’t remember when this happens for freshmen. If you are in doubt, simply email the NYU housing office (I think the address is housing@nyu.edu) and they usually respond quite quickly. Or just call.

Thanks so much for the responses. I was just getting ansy reading about all the students putting in their choices and when my D logged in the forms page was expired. I think I’ll just call tomorrow and get an idea of when to get this going.
P.S. - My D is thrilled to be going to her dream school in the Fall!! And I can’t wait to meet some of you parents.

Make sure to have your daughter refresh that page when she gets an error.

Good idea. I’m not sure she has done that. She just gets the error message. I did speak to the Housing office and was told they had until June 1 to send in their questionnaire. I had been under the impression it was May 1, so it was good to know there was more time.

I am still confused on this issue after two phone calls. We sent in the $800.00 deposit for housing and tuition about three weeks ago. We have received no info on choosing housing. I called the housing office on Monday. They said we would receive another letter requesting a $1,000 housing deposit any day and then my son would also make his housing selection. I called again today and the admission’s office told me the information would come on my son’s NYU homepage. Can anybody enlighten me as to what the actual procedure is for this years freshman?

I called NYU housing today about this very issue and they said that housing info for RD students would go out (by snail mail and email) sometime next week.
