NYU important question

NYU aside from attending school fairs also has a special meeting in the Dallas area. Ifi attend that meeting, although already having seen them at my school college fair, will it help get more noticed by them? Will it help the people there see that I seem to have initiative in NYU specifically so they remember me more.

While for most schools I would say it’s a good idea to do this, NYU is a little different. Firstly, I think (though I’m not positive) that they have different admissions reps for each college. So, if you plan to apply to CAS, you might not meet a CAS rep there. (I would verify this because I’m not 100% sure it’s true.)

Secondly, I read once that NYU throws away thank-you notes from students and what not (while most schools keep them and add them to their files), which gives me the impression that they don’t really care about much outside of the application itself, if that makes sense.

The thing is that NYU has so many applicants. Which, on the one hand, makes me feel like it won’t make much of a difference if you attend. But on the other hand, if it does make a difference, it’d be a big one. Anything to help you stand out from the crowd is good.

So basically, it’s not necessary for you to go, but I don’t think it would hurt either. It’s all up to you.

Yeah unfortunately I kinda agree with dragonfly. Still couldn’t hurt just to show your face just in case.
