I am female, hispanic, go to pretty prestigious private school
gpa is a little iffy-3.1, but my school doesn’t release gap/rank students so they’d just see my grades. I also have 4 APs and 2 accelerated (post-AP) classes on my record
30 ACT, but taking one more time
lots of EC’s such as head of mock trial, youth participatory action research, writer for school newspaper, harvard model congress, theater, etc
i know it’ll be really competitive, but NYU is my dream school!

Your GPA is going to be a major hindrance to admission. The average GPA is 3.7. Due to your GPA I would say NYU is a high reach.
also not sure, do you have any hooks? (first gen college student etc…)
maybe if you write about your heritage it will help you.
A lot of my family went there, and my common app essay is about my mixed heritage. The reason my GPA isn’t great is from my grades freshman and sophomore year. I had a steep increase last and this year, which i hope helps. I have heard colleges like upward trends
gpa is low, act is alright, good number of ecs.
