NYU(NY) ED1 2018 Discussion

I feel like there next wave will be rejections to the central/west coast. Hopefully none of us will be included in that blast.

@siberian how many kids attend your school? i know of some larger, very reputable schools in NYC who routinely send 50 or so students a year to NYU (out of about 800 per grade). There is probably another wave, but i think its safe to say a majority of the remaining emails will be acceptances…
and i think maybe all of the east coast rejections have already happened, facebook was a mess this morning with kids complaining about not having gotten in

but I am from Canada…so that’s international?

do we think the east coast rejection waves have been sent out?

@ a1ska I would consider that international so I would say (fingers crossed) that you got accepted!

i would be surprised if they all were not. A ton of NJ rejections and from within the city there are tons of kids who were rejected.

@rocky It appears to look that way

How do you guys know that the emails are sent out by region and not last name or something?

From last years thread it seems like they were definitely not sent out by name or school, and it seems like all the international students got rejections first

we dont, but it does seem that for the most part everyone who has received anything has been international or east coast. I may be wrong but i do believe no west coast applicant has received anything yet.

you probably see it if you stayed up from 12:30 am …LOL

@maybeNYU I live in New York so I’m closest to NYU. It’s a kind of like a small college prep school.

But I found out just now that one person got rejected from Stern. Hopefully that’s it. So it may be East to West—not sure.

It was just a guess because it seemed like they did international rejections and then east coast rejections… It would be awesome if it was by last name because then I might be in the clear (I would say F is a pretty early letter in the alphabet?)

I have this gut wrenching feeling that noon EST is when the next wave will come…

I live and attend high school within a mile of NYU and have yet to receive anything but a ton of others in NYC have. Its definitely regional, thats the only way to explain east coast emails and a complete lack of west coast emails.

I live on the east coast (MA) and I haven’t gotten anything yet… I really hope this is a good sign.

MY daughter is waiting for an answer, we live in CT- her friend, last name starts with N, received a rejection email- no news for my daughter yet- our last name starts with L

Lol!

@ilovegoldfish same with me, I’m in MA. I’m reading all these posts about the east coast blast being over. Fingers crossed!
