when someone asks you where you are going do you say NYU, or NYU Stern(or just Stern) ?</p>

<p>I say NYU, and when the ask my major I say Business, and sometimes they know what Stern is.</p>
<p>I have a bumper sticker on my car now that says “NYU Stern”, however.</p>
<p>I say NYU. You can come off as a pretentious toolbag (reinforcing the dark side of our sternie rep) otherwise. I pretty much do what Jaq does, I’d tell them “Stern” only if they ask specifically for the school after that.</p>

<p>yeah i just say NYU and if they ask me my major i say “well, i’m going to their business school.” and then they know :)</p>
<p>I don’t think there’s anything pretentious about saying you go to NYU Stern…</p>
<p>That said, I just say NYU because the only people who care about the Stern name are people in business and the other 90% probably couldn’t name any of the schools at NYU.</p>
