NYU RD 2023

@thisblows2023 I applied to Tisch Cinema Studies, and I have the same question re: its competitiveness lol. I know it’s generally more competitive than like CAS but but I don’t know specific acceptance rates

i did for all performance
studios!

Applied to Tisch…super nervous and need someone who understands my anxiety !!!

My kiddo applied to Tisch, too.

Same @vickyb01 ! What major did you apply to?

Does anyone know how hard it is to get into Gallatin compared to the other schools? I also put a second choice major and expressed interest in the Liberal Core Studies Program

@ambeu8 , one of my daughter’s friends was accepted to Gallatin ED. Apparently an important part of being accepted there is how well your essay shows it would be a fit for what you want to study. Stats-wise I understand they look for similar to CAS.

did everyone RD get an email in jan that they have your FAFSA and CSS?

I’m also a Tisch applicant @vickyb01 . Applied for Film and Television and I’m definitely feeling anxious!

@SJ2727 thank you! I talked about three disciplines I was interested in studying and how I think Gallatin would be a good fit for me because I wouldn’t be restricted to certain major requirements if I were a student there. My stats are good but could be better, I have a 3.83 uw/4.12 weighted gpa and a 1390 sat

Lot of people anxiously waiting —it is not useful to say I heard from somebody about somebody getting admitted…waste of time …do not need fake news here at this time!

@CaMom13 I applied to CAS, Im assuming they admit you to the college itself? I’m worried because I got a B in a subject that is related to my major

Yes, @unconditionar CAS admission is to the College. I don’t know for sure about each major in CAS but I sincerely doubt they calculate high school GPA by subject. In any event - it’s done, right? Water is under the bridge so don’t worry. It’s in the hands of the admissions gods and you only have to wait 4 more days for the result. Try to do something other than fret in those 4 days! I wish you the very best of luck.

I don’t even know why I’m stressing about NYU when I know I probably wouldn’t be able to go even if I do get in. It really sucks to work so hard for four years and get into all of your top schools and then realize that you can’t afford any of them. What a waste. Aw well, only four more days…

Does anybody know how competitive Political Science at CAS is as a major?

I got in last Thursday with the MLK scholarship thing… anyone else???

I’m not sure how much they really take the majors into account for CAS, considering you can apply undecided, and they know many people change their minds about their major anyway.

@Ruthless16 , congratulations! What school were you admitted to?

I’m super nervous for decisions!!

I’m international and I have decent SAT, GPA, and EC. however, I have 81 toefl score. do u think toefl score will affect my decision?

@asdddw2 Not really. Colleges don’t really care about your TOEFL score as long as you have scored more than the min required score.
I have a 115 in TOEFL and my college counselor told me it is no better than a 100 or a 95.
