@lanouba Can you post their email response they sent you?
By earlier than April 1st they probably mean March 31 because that’s what they did last year.
If you guys got the email you have to click the link and if you don’t want to withdraw your application, click the butto. Just a btw thing guys
@joshgonzo50 You only click the link if you are admitted somewhere under the Early Decision contract. If you aren’t, then just ignore the email.
Is it likely they’ll release decisions next week if they are “finalizing” our applications?
@tuesday2 Probably not. Decisions usually come out the last week of March for NYU
@joshgonzo50 No you should only click that link IF you were accepted somewhere ED. Certainly there’s an opt out on the next link butvthe point is it clearly states to click that link ONLY if you were accepted somewhere ED. Would be kind of odd, IMHO, to indicate “yes, I was accepted somewhere else ED, and thus subject to the binding ED agreement, but screw it, I’m not going g to withdraw my other applications as I agreed to do” lol
Maybe the button click email is a final test lol
@kibbles I just clicked I do NOT wish to withdraw. I haven’t made ED anywhere else, pretty sure that’s okay, doesn’t say I couldn’t, just said it’s not necessary… soo…
@firetofire The link was only to be clicked if you were accepted ED anywhere. Your action basically told them that you were accepted ED somewhere but do not wish to withdraw your application from NYU. However, considering so many people seem to have the wrong idea about the email, I wouldn’t worry about it, because you’re definitely not the only one who did so.
@firetofire you only get to that option by first clicking that you were accepted ED.
I don’t know. I think it is kind of odd that they phrased it so clunkily. Probably computer-generated so as long as they aren’t reading if as you withdrawing your app, it’s probably fine.
Guys, one of my friend who applied to NYU did not receive the email. Could this email really mean something?
@colleges321 Was it in another one of their folders like spam or something in their e-mail? Someone said that was the case for them.
@colleges321 did they check their spam folder because that’s probably where it went if it’s not in their regular inbox
@getaclucy As I found mine in “Promotions,” I suggested to him to check All mail and Spam, he did not receive it. Tho NYU is his second campus…
@firetofire I agree with kibbles. You probably don’t have anything to worry about, though I guess if you are really worried it wouldn’t hurt to call or send an email.
Has anyone gotten the email from admissions that did NOT apply early decision to a different school? Because I applied ED to a school other than NYU and got deferred, so I’m not sure if admissions knows and sent me the email because of that.
I didn’t apply ED to any other school. Only EA and RD @julia115
