***NYU Regular Decision Class of 2021 Discussion***

Does anyone know when scholarship decisions come out? Last year it came out on 3/15.

@chips99 I am from Virginia and I haven’t gotten it

anyone fro Ohio get the change?

On Twitter, NYU’s Office of Admissions replied that the decisions would be out on the 1st, not “by the 1st.” It sounded like they were sure!

Dang. I wish I didn’t overthink literally everything. Oh well. We’ll see what my fate is on April 1st

DANG IT WHYYY

@Chips99 I’m from VA and I didn’t get it either

Hi everyone! I was accepted ED2 and had the same stresses about the housing portal as everyone on here. For a long time, I had “Summer 2017” with various campus options available, but it meant nothing. I also had “non-renewable undergraduate” in the housing portal for a long time, which also meant nothing. Both changed when I was accepted and they said “New York City Freshman” and “Freshman,” respectively, in the housing portal. Again, these only changed AFTER I was accepted. Try and stay optimistic and don’t focus too much on these changes since they mean absolutely nothing about the final outcome. Good luck!

@university6253 but don’t you think that the change from Summer 2017 to non-renewable undergraduate was an indicator of your admission? I am a little confused that it only changed to new york city Freshman after you were accepted, though, I’ve heard people say that “new york city freshman” is supposed to be the indicator of admission. Do you know if it actually changed only after you were accepted or maybe you didn’t check for the change until after you got your acceptance?

@bronstein Changing to “new york city freshman” is an indicator. However, last year they only changed it to “freshman” extremely near when the admission emails were sent. Some people had their’s changed to “freshman” before they received the email, thus signaling that they got in. Some others got it changed to “freshman” after they got the acceptance email.
Also non-renewable undergraduate means nothing. We are all non-renewable undergraduates right now. Just click on the application in the housing and you will see it say “non-renewable undergraduate”.
I believe the only indicator of admission we know of so far is the “freshman”, which comes around when emails are sent. The other things we are getting from the housing is way too early to tell.

@Rav115 that’s a relief to hear but why do some people have non-renewable undergraduate and others only have summer 2017?

@bronstein No its both. I have Summer 2017. However, click the “Access Application” under the campus place (ex. NYU New York) and you will see yourself listed as non-renewable undergraduate.

@bronstein I dont think anyone here would know. Maybe a glitch or sth

I received an email from NYU asking me to indicate on the portal whether I have accepted any offer from elsewhere. No action was needed if I was still interested in NYU, so I have done nothing.
I am wondering if everyone else also received that email.
BTW, I am a RD applicant.

@Rav115 Thats not the change that people are talking about, though; what im referring to is that everyone has a box that says summer 2017 on the main page, but underneath that some people have got a change because there is an added box that says Academic year 2017-2018. http: //i65.t i n y p i c.com/2jeteo2(dot)png. Put that in your browser to get an idea. Some users have gotten a change where this academic year 2017-2018 box shows up under the summer 2017 box, but instead of the term classification saying New York City, Freshman, it says Non-Renewable Undergraduate. That is what people are referring to. Some of us have gotten it, but others like myself havent, so I am starting to think maybe it is an indicator of something.

@bronstein Ohh well in that case I think I can confidently assure you that it doesn’t mean anything. I checked with my brother and a friend on their housing page. Their’s are identical to mine, with just the Summer 2017.
And these people are (I’m assuming) easily getting into their choice of school at NYU. My brother almost has a 2400 and my friend 2300, both not super-scored, and they applied for CAS. Also their EC’s and everything else are amazing  So…yeah while I may be wrong because my sample size is so small…I doubt having the Academic year 2017-2018 is an indicator of getting admitted.

@rav115 that’s very reassuring to hear, I was starting to freak out a little bit cause I didn’t have anything and I saw all these posts about people’s housing portals changing.

Good to see a lot of passionate people who want to go to NYU. Who here is going if they get in?

Where is this housing information located lol??
