I’m from PA, and I still have “Summer Session 2017” (also applied to CAS). Trying to convince myself that the change doesn’t mean anything, but I really feel like it does…

Can anyone help me I’m just curious if this is the change everyone is talking about. After pressing view application on the housing website and selecting NYU New York I got this:

Is that what all the fuss is about currently? About the non-renowable undergraduate part or the summer session?

The fuss is about the part where it says “Applying for Summer Session 2017”. For some people, underneath that, it says “Academic Year 2016-2017” or something like that.
But really from the people I know who have NYU as an easy safety school…they have not received the change yet so I believe we are just reading too far into it.
@bronstein trust me, I checked that site every hour on the hour on the day of decisions. It never changed to freshman until I was accepted. I still have the option for Summer 2017 housing because anyone can take a summer term at NYU, no matter who you are. “NYC Freshman” for sure came after my acceptance. I wouldn’t worry too much about what your portals look like now; they will change closer to the date that decisions are released.
Having “Academic Year 2017-2018” is a very good sign. That is what my housing portal looks like and I’ve already been accepted. Congrats to those who have that, but to those who don’t, don’t worry- they periodically update these things, and I got my change after decisions were released.
GAHHh. Now, I’m getting swept up in this whole anxiety thing. I was really never going to check, but I checked today after giving in.
I only really did it because I got an email from a school about an accepted students day and sending any questions about my program to the dean…and I hadn’t yet received my acceptance letter, but I dismissed it because I didn’t read carefully. I thought it was weird that they were saying to email any questions I have…and I thought it was just a generic event they were telling me about…always read your emails carefully.
Has anyone else here applied to Steinhardt? And if you have, have you seen anything change on your housing portal??

@sunnydo165 I applied to Steinhardt. I have the academic year if that’s what you’re talking about but I’ve had that option for almost a month now so it’s nothing new.
Any one who applied to Stern seen a change to academic year 2017 - 2018? Im a stern applicant from MA and I have not had a change. >.<
@castlehes For some people on the housing portal, it changed for from summer session 2017 to academic year 2017-2018

No some people have just the summer one or both the summer and 2017-2018 option
I only have the summer option and I applied to Gallatin (NorCal)
I got the email last weekend (Tandon SoCal btw). Pretty sure they don’t release it by area. Seems random tbh. You guys should not worry. The only important change is from nonrenewable to freshmen which apparently changes a few hours before they send out decisions.
I’m not sure if having Academic Year 17-18 on the portal actually means anything because I had that for a pretty long time last month, but it’s gone now and I just have Summer. (ie they can’t have accepted me, put it into the system, changed their minds and removed it right?) Unless they were simply fixing a glitch… but yeah.

@camwow login to housing.nyu.edu. Then you will see the front page - so far everyone has a box that says Summer 2017, but some users on here have seen another box below that that says Academic Year 2017-2018. It could be a sign of admission, and it could not be, that’s what all the fuss is about.
