NYU residence halls pro's and cons

lol to be honest, my friend who is a sophomore this year @ stern, says rubin sucks. but since i’m living there, i think its gonna rock. its all about perspectives haha

Hahahah. After reading about 3rd North being voted best dorm I made sure to gloat about it on everyone’s wall (on Facebook, lol). Uhall was my 1st choice but I got chucked in 3rd North for the fall semester… I’m not too excited about the tiny living rooms, but I know the location’s unbeatable :)

why do you say the location is unbeatable?

3N’s location being unbeatable? I dont know about that…

haha, that’s what i was thinking…in terms of both aesthetic and distance, it’s def. not unbeatable

location…you’re in new york city. 3N being in east village/union square is just as good as hayden being 5 minutes away from class and having west village and mcdougal in their backyard, which is just as good as Rubin being on fifth avenue, which is just as good as godard being above starbucks and a block from the library, which is just as good as being in weinstein being half a second away from all your classes at Silver…

its fine though, i understand how someone at 3N would want to make themselves feel better…jk

Its the closest to morning dance classes if you are a dance major at Tisch.

Another person here destined to make Rubin awesome

^Add me to that “awesome” crowd. I’ll be living in Rubin. It’s going to be the place to be.

so 3N is the best location for less than 1% of NYU’s student population (aka dance majors)

What’s the policy on available residency for GSP students?

Rubin will be the best dorm this year. How do I know that?

My son will be in Rubin. He tends to attract people :-)

mustang blue, it’s the exact same as any other student at Tisch. they don’t give you last choice on dorms just because you are in GSP…

Is there anyway to avoid the craziness that will occur on move in day for freshmens?

Consider it a rite of passage.

it’s really not that bad. just a long wait.

Anyone want to challenge the potential coolness of Rubin or it it a general consensus?

What bars and clubs do you, the OP, make mention of that are located in Union Square?

The coolness of Rubin for next year is set in stone, my friend.

Any info on the graduate residence halls? (more specifically 26th St, Stuyvesant Town and Washington Square Village)
