One more thing: does this mean I’m officially rejected from NYUSH? I mean, as far as I know, acceptance letters were all sent out yesterday. I haven’t got one, so does this mean I’m off the list?

Hey you guys! I was accepted EDI and hopefully I can answer some of your questions!
Congrats to all of yall! I am guessing this is all of the RD acceptantees, but I thought admissions decisions werent going to go out until April? Hopefully this means that there are still more to go around :)

It looks like we finally have some more people from the US, theres only a couple girls on the facebook page And about that, you have to be invited to join the facebook group- so I am sure yall will be getting an email soon and a message on Facebook from Jerllin Cheng to be invited to it. Cant wait to meet yall on there! My name is Emily

Is it really weird if I wasn’t invited to a Candidate’s Weekend and didn’t have an interview but was still accepted?

I read online that it’s highly unlikely that an applicant will be accepted if they weren’t invited to a Candidate’s Weekend.

what is candidate’s weekend?

Also, post your stats here for future applicant’s reference:

hey guys, have you been contacted after replying to the invitation (NYC or Shanghai) ? they said "As soon as you RSVP, our colleagues in New York or Shanghai will be in touch with you immediately " , but i haven’t heard from them since responding to the invitation yesterday

No. I hope they reply soon as I need a travel itinerary for when I go to renew my passport. Hopefully they will be taking care of the visas, as those are somewhat pricey!

I think it says in the acceptance letter that they’ll give you all the resources you need to successfully apply for a visa, but you actually have to get it yourself. I don’t know about the fee though.

Actually, you have to have a written letter to receive a student visa to study there, so NYUSH will get your visa for you (but youll have to pay for the fee- it runs a couple hundred USD). They are dealing with a lot of people, so give them some time to be in touch with yall. It was taking a few days for them to respond to my emails before everyone else was admitted, so now I bet it will take them even longer.

Considering the “revisit” weekends are so soon and it takes about two weeks to get a visa for China, I’m guessing not? Unless they want to take some people but not pay for their trips. There’s probably a sizable waitlist, but those people would be finding out in April.

They were pretty explicit online about their main role being to provide the sponsorship letter, not actually order the visa or ensure that it gets to you.

@Anyone who got admitted, upon your acceptance, did something change on your albert?

Does anyone know if for our trips in April/March, we’re going to be getting a tourist visa or a student visa? L visas run a couple hundred and I’m not sure my family is going to want to pay for it to have it expire in three months or so.

My albert was pretty funky the days before my acceptance. After I was accepted, though, nothing changed.

1 week before I was admitted, my financial aid changed to ‘2014 Award Access Not Available’

At approximately 3 pm (US time), I received a ‘Accept/Decline’ offer on Albert.

^ Are you referring to your Stern acceptance? Or are you also accepted to NYUSH?

@dynamic Actually, NYU got my Visa for me, it might be different for the students who were accepted ED, but I paid for my Visa and NYU did the legwork. That was because you need an explicit letter from ECNU inviting you over, and they had to get that before I could get my Visa.

I am the same as nyuclassof2017, my FA changed like his did, at near the same time.

@dynamicsemantics: Waitlist people find out in April? Don’t they wait till after May1st once they know how many people have enrolled?

Do you guys have that accept/decline button thing on your application status?

Other than an acceptance email, has anyone been contact by NYUSH in any other way? I gave them my info to visit Shanghai, and they haven’t sent any confirmation or info at all. Usually schools send some kind of confirmation. Anyone have answers?

I have not heard back from NYUSH after submitting my info for the Shanghai visit either. I hope it comes in time to get a visa.

Visas don’t take long to get at all. I believe China has a same day service that you can do if you’re getting an X visa. Not sure about an L visa though. The only problem with visas is that you need to go to one of the Consulates, and I think they’re only in NYC, Chic, Houston, SF, LA, and the embassy in DC. So, I’m assuming NYU will help us go and get the visas down in NYC. And they’d need our passports. Siighhhh I want to hear back.
