Two weeks until EDers leave to see the “campus” (none of the buildings are built yet, haha)
But hopefully I will be able to take some pictures of the ECNU campus where the inaugural class will be staying and post a link back here to the forums.

Maybe if the RDers like what what you see, you will be more inclined to choose NYUSH :D

Plus, i think it would be very hard to choose a college without having ever seen the school itself, so it might also relieve some of the apprehension!

say, we all get accepted. do we have to accept the offer before we can be invited to the candidate week, or does everyone who’s accepted will getthe invitation?

Hmm I don’t think RDers will get invited unless otherwise and i also think you have to accept the admissions offer before you get invited to see the campus because the Shanghai campus doesn’t seem to have as much money at their disposal as the Abu Dhabi campus

Actually, I think a lot of people will be doing BS degrees. Mostly because they expect that their STEM program will be one of their larger majors, I think a large number of Chinese students will be going into that. Plus, they are putting Business/Finance major in the BA field, and since it can go in either BA/BS I would bet they put it in BA because BS is expecting more people but I guess no one really knows haha

I’m pretty positive RD students will not be flown out to Shanghai to see the campus- because of what was said earlier. They dont have as much money at their disposal to do that yet. Hopefully in years to come they will be having Candidates Weekends for everyone not just the Chinese students.

It says something like major “SHANGHAI” on Albert nothing about what major…though i don’t really remember but yeah something like that (will clarify later), and it will give you your first preference if they want you, or your second preference if they thought you qualified for that rather than your first one, unless you indicated in the interview that you’d rather be chosen for NYUSH.

I indicated in my interview that i prefer NYUSHANGHAI, and I thought that later the order of the campuses on albert would change, but it didn’t D: but i think that they would admit you to the campus you fit the most.

:D I’m happy to know there are other people interested in sciences too.

Yeah I told them in the interview that I would prefer to go to NYUSH rather than NYU Stern and on my Albert account NYUSH was listed before Stern. However, that could’ve been a lot of things. I could’ve already been rejected from Stern or it could’ve just been a fluke.

I don’t exactly understand how their system works, but when i got my acceptance it was literally just an email saying I was accepted to NYU Shanghai, nothing about the other campus (NYUNY) I applied to.

Okay, let me get this straight. On your Albert account, under application status, BOTH NYUSH and NYUNY showed up?

I applied for both campuses, and only NYUSH is showing up (my first choice campus). It;s been like this since January, so I doubt it indicates I got rejected from NYUNY. I had a problem at the beginning where I e-mailed a NYU admissions counselor, saying that my choice of major wasn’t able to be selected for NYUNY, and she said she fixed it.

Should I be concerned about my NYUNY application?

funny… for anyone who speaks a little chinese, “NYUNY” kind of sounds like milk in mandarin. :P

Yeah, on Application Status there is both NYUSH and Stern listed. I’m not sure if the fact that yours isnt showing up indicates a problem. I don’t want to give you bad advice… but I guess a phone call asking about it couldn’t hurt.
