still haven’t heard anything. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad. I went on Albert and it said all decisions should be out by Dec 12th. 8-}

Received my acceptance to Gallatin today!! Good luck to everyone one else anxiously awaiting their decision, best of luck !

What time did you hear from them today??.. I’m waiting to hear from Gallatin as well… And CONGRATS

The December 12th date is for ED1 Freshman applicants… Not us.

Also, is it still possible to hear back today?

The latest I’ve heard a response getting in is around 1:30 ET…

I called to admissions office and they said even the spring transfer are still being sent out over Dec. and if I haven’t heard anything by Friday to call them back…

So does that mean pretty much everyone should hear by Friday?

Are we all hearing by Friday? Fo’ sho?

I feel that a lot of people who haven’t heard by this point are likely rejections including myself Am I being too pessimistic? Maybe a 28 was too low… I really hope not.

@pinkpop , have you received a decision yet? I noticed you haven’t been posting lately.

@PSC2IVY I think the fact that we haven’t heard back means that they are still seriously considering us. If we were put in the definitely no pile, we would have heard back by now… Were in the gray area. HAVE FAITH

I had a minor panic attack today about all sorts of things, those posts were part of it. Sorry about that everyone.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to add some context.

This is my second time transferring and second time applying to NYU.

The first time I applied as a CC student, got accepted to some school and eventually into Emory. Not into NYU.

Turns out, I ended up not going to Emory and picking a state school for a few different reasons.

I am actually not happy at my current school because of the quality of the student body, and therefore am looking to transfer, unfortunately, again.

As someone who has been through this process and has received acceptances to great schools yet many, many more rejections, I think there is something that I’ve learned along the way:

A school can not and should not define you. Why I got accepted into Emory and not into much less competitive schools was really the time in which I realized that applying to college is a crap-shoot. Unless you have perfect quantitative stats, it’s entirely subjective.

Even though I didn’t end up going there, the fact that I got in gave me assurance that I was good enough, and that I shouldn’t take rejections personally.

You are so much more than a sheet of paper. A GPA. An SAT score. There are 4 years, 1460 days, 35,040 hours of hard work, dedication, and growth that went into those single digits. By no means will those simple, simple numbers ever define you as a person.

Of course, I want to get into NYU. But will I be distraught if I don’t? No way! I realize that I am capable of doing extraordinary things, and while a school may provide you the tools, only you can define your worth!

Everything happens for a reason.

Sorry about this brief soliloquy. I wish all of you the best of luck and regardless of the outcome, you are all intelligent, successful, and most importantly courageous individuals and I am extremely proud of you.

I literally just got my acceptance to College of Nursing 5 mins ago. Good luck guys!

Accepted to Arts and Sciences (Econ)…oh the irony.

OMG CONGRATULATIONS @kkkkpppp YOU DESERVE IT! :-D

@kkkkpppp and @TransferMan123 when did you guys submit your apps?

@PSC2IVY Thanks. I submitted my app sometimes in the end of September. hopefully, you will receive your good news soon :)

The longer I wait, the more I lose hope. The timeline in which they send out decisions makes no sense for applicants. For people staying in their current school’s housing, like myself, there are deadlines to reserve space for next semester/ to withdraw occupancy. I’m coming close to the point of either waiting for a decision or losing housing if I don’t get in!
