This will probably be the last week. Around this time last year, It was all rejections after the 20th. I’m really sorry to anyone who doesn’t get in, you all are smart and deserve a spot. I have felt the sting of rejection at many schools this transfer season.

Decisions are pretty much done, if you haven’t heard now… it is probably a rejection. I was rejected by more than 70% of the schools I applied to for transfer this Spring (with a 3.93 GPA & 31 ACT) so don’t feel bad. The college admissions game is an unfair lottery and there are certainly people who received a narrow acceptance that didn’t deserve it and people who were overqualified yet rejected. Merry Christmas to all! Happy Hanukkah, Ramadan Kareem, etc…

No I haven’t. I had to contact an admissions officer to request an extension on my decision since it was back in November, it had already expired! The financial aid office is apparently closed until the 5th. I’d suggest you guys who’ve had your decisions out for a while to contact them because I think you only get 2-3 weeks from your decision letter date before the offer is retracted. They’ll understand waiting on a financial aid package. There’s no way I’m paying an enrollment deposit without knowing how much loans I’d be taking out and such! I don’t come from a rich family! That’s just crazy.
@Paintist Thank you for your response and I completely understand. I really appreciate you for sharing. I think its crazy how they still haven’t given us our FA package yet and the payment deadline is fast approaching
which school did you get accept to if you don’t mind sharing?
My EFC is 0 and i have no clue how much money they will give me…probably not much…
@PSC2IVY I couldn’t be happier for you!! congrats! I know I am a little late but still I am so excited for you! I also got accepted into Gallatin! YAY!! Also guess what! I am also a transfer from a small community college! You worked so hard! you certainly deserve it! If you don’t mind sharing, how was the overall FA package because I still haven’t received mine…i am super nervous plus my etc is 0. Please help and thanks in advance… Also if you don’t mind do you think ill be able to get an dorm at nyu? thank you and happy new year!
I don’t think anyone is going to read this but I just wanted to share some of my thoughts. I believe we have all worked so hard and each and every one of us deserves a great education! I wish you all the best! and congrats to everyone who got accepted!
@dreamerxoxo Thanks a lot! Lord only knows how much harder it is for us community college students to get accepted to elite universities, it definitely isn’t an even playing field. My FA was average but supplemented by a private scholarship I procured at the end of my studies at community college. I’m really sorry to hear about your financial situation. I already accepted my housing offer so I think it is a pretty safe bet that you will get your choice of housing! Can’t wait to see you in Gallatin or not, dunno if I’ll know if I talk to you or not!
Well, I actually created this thread a couple of months ago and it is good to see things are coming to a close. If somebody could make an FB group for us 2015 external spring transfers that would be aweesssooommeee!
@PSC2IVY thank you so much for responding. I totally agree with everything you said. I couldn’t be happier for you… Btw, did you get a PTK scholarship from NYU? I just got my FA package and it was quite disappointing but oh well… And YES! the FB page sounds like a wonderful idea! I would seriously consider making a FB page for all of the 2015 external spring transfer. Would you like to help me make one? I hope to see you at Gallatin and wish you the best of luck!
