NYU Spring Transfer 2020

Can an admitted student say what their role is under NYU Zoom → account profiles? Mine is also “member - student”. Probably doesn’t mean anything, just curious.

@throwawaynyu I was admitted Friday. Mine used to say “member” now it says “member - affiliate”.

so does mine @nyu4me

but I haven’t gotten my decision yet @nyu4me

@hilareolas interesting. I haven’t accepted my admission yet so the member - affiliate thing might have to do solely with my admittance. I remember my SAT scores were waived the same day yours were. which school / major did you apply to?

Mine changed today so maybe they’re gearing up for another wave on Friday. I applied to CAS for biology.

@nyu4me ^

@NYU4me @hilareolas

mine says the same thing too- “member-affiliate” but I haven’t received a decision too. Hopefully this Friday we all hear back

i have a friend who goes to nyu, i checked his and for him it says “Member - student”, but idk if it really means anything, because it might be the people with “Member - affiliate” are accepted.

@throwawaynyu im curious too because I’ve only noticed the change on that, and nothing else. Also when you guys go to housing and if you select NYU Washington DC for either Fall 2019 or Spring 2020, does it let you pick a university and ask for an authorization code?

I just wanna know whether it was there before or not^^

I also asked my friend at nyu and his was also member-student; however, I doubt they’d give that to applicants as we haven’t even received our decisions yet, nevertheless been able to commit to NYU and be considered as an enrolled student

@hilareolas yah i agree it doesn’t feel real to believe to be honest. But hey i hope we all get admitted at the end of the day.

@loverose4565 @hilareolas

I’m not sure what the NYU Zoom change means but it is interesting to note that A few individuals in the forum had ‘member’ but were rejected. While someone that was accepted had ‘member-affiliate’ and were offered admission but didn’t accept or decline yet. Didn’t see anything in the forum so far with an applicant having ‘member student’ and getting an offer. And it wouldn’t make sense to give ‘member-student’ to an applicant.

But hey, May not mean anything at all. Guess we gotta continue waiting and find out then. And I hope we all get in at the end of the day.

Rejected. But I did not receive a mail updating me about decision. I just happened to check the portal and saw that my decision was ready.
Applied to steinhardt for Applied Psych btw

Of course you can reapply, they just don’t open fall admissions till later. I tried for fall and now spring. I’ve heard of someone applying four times till he made it. Good luck!

As a second time applicant, the minor changes in your profile are really not what you should be concentrating on. I learned that the hard way when I was obsessed last time. Trust that there is a pattern and if there is being a decision being made about you on that day your checklist will clear. Since decisions seem to come out every Friday that’s the only day I would bother with it, don’t stress yourself out so much and become obsessed over constantly wondering - whatever happens, happens and it’s out of your control. Study for exams, take a walk, have some hot chocolate. It’s the holidays, best of luck xx

Hey guys! For anyone interested, you can read your reviewer’s comments about your application. The steps are laid out here:
https://nyulocal.com/a-step-by-step-guide-to-getting-access-to-your-nyu-admissions-records-d06c57a4b9ac

Think this will be helpful for those who applied and were rejected and seek to reapply again or just for anyone interested in why they were accepted as well.

Hope this helps with closure for a few and overall insight for many! :smile:

@NYU4me thank you i’m sure im gonna need it.

@Easy22 when did you check the portal if you dont mind me asking?
