I am a student from Taiwan going to apply to NYU Steinhardt BM, Vocal Performance: Contemporary Voice, which is better? An online or in-person audition? Do I need to fly to NYU for the audition, and is it cost-effective and valuable?

I think the folks in the music major area might better be able to answer this question.
My daughter had submitted her NYU prerecorded audition in 2022-2023 application season, she did not do live one due to a scheduling conflict with another music school. She was accepted into their Woodwind performance program.
It was coming out of COVID admissions cycle, so process may change now. I remember she also had a trial lesson with the NYU Flute professor. For more information check out the specialized Music application thread. Good luck!
