Someone recently misplaced my graphing calculator and I was given a hundred dollars to replace it. I was thinking about spending a little extra and getting an ti-89. I wanted to know if Stern had any restrictions against this calculator because otherwise I would get an ti-84.

You don’t need a graphing calculator at all. You can’t use it for any of the math classes (they don’t allow them in exams in calculus, for example), and the the finance functions are kind of awkward to use and not so great. If you’re going to be a finance major, get a financial calculator. It’ll have all the scientific functions you might need, and it’ll be useful for the higher level finance classes. I’ve got an HP 10BII which works fine, but if you want to be fancy, you can get a 12C.
