NYU Tisch CAP 21 summer program - deadline?

Does anyone know how strict NYU is about their deadline time of 5:00 on the day of the deadline in regards to accepting applications? One of my recommenders waited to the last minute and, of course, forgot to submit it until 7:00-ish. Everything else is in, though.

Colleges expect a student to meet an application deadline but are more forgiving about recommendations or transcripts that others send on your behalf. If a student’s application is in on time and some recs come a little later, it is almost always fine. And when I say later, a rec can come a week later, for instance. In your case, you are talking the same day! I see NO problem in your case. When you apply to college, you will find that colleges contact you if something is missing in your file such as a test score report or a teacher recommendation or a transcript. They do not say, “we no longer will consider you.” As long as YOUR part is on file, they are willing to ask you to get that other paper work in from the other sources ASAP. While I can’t speak for the NYU/Tisch/CAP summer program, my experience in college admissions tells me you have NO PROBLEM in this instance. Good luck and I hope you get into the summer program and if not this one, then another very good one.

Thank you so much! That was very helpful and reassuring! =)
