I am a freshman Psychology major at Pace University. I am hoping to transfer to New York University as a sophomore for the 2014-2015 academic year. I have some questions and concerns regarding this transfer.

I have taken various Pace core requirements and I am curious about which credits from these courses may be transferable to NYU. This semester, I have taken Intro to Psychology (PSY 112); Dynamics of ChangeWhat Next? (SOC 113); Gender, Race, and Class (WS 266); Elementary College Spanish I (SPA 101); and Critical Writing (ENG 120). Are any of these courses transferable for the core and/or the Psychology major?

Next semester, I plan to take courses that satisfy core requirements and major requirements. I have looked at the College of Arts and Sciences Core Program as well as the Psychology major requirements for NYU, and I am still not sure which credits will transfer.

I see that Psychology majors at NYU are required to take Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences, but I am unaware of the prerequisites for this class. If any math classes are required and would be accepted as transfer credits, I would like to take a math class next semester. Would it be beneficial to begin with a College Algebra course, or is this unnecessary for the Statistics course?

Other courses that are required for the core at Pace include Public Speaking (COM 200) and Introduction to Computing (CIS 101). Would these courses satisfy any NYU requirements and would it be necessary to include these in my schedule next semester if I were accepted as a transfer student next year? I would rather not take these courses if they are unnecessary. I will be continuing with the Spanish curriculum by taking Elementary College Spanish II (SPA 102) next semester. I plan to take Intro to Psychological Counseling (PSY 337) as well. Will those two courses also transfer for credit at NYU?

In high school, I graduated with a 3.69 GPA. SAT scores are irrelevant if I have completed a full year of college, so I do not need to submit those. I was involved in a lot of extracurricular activities in high school and am currently getting involved in more activities and clubs at Pace. I expect at least a 3.67 GPA this semester, but it will likely be higher. Is this good enough for CAS as a Psych major?

If anyone has any suggestions regarding my courses, I would really appreciate it.
