For those of you that have been accepted in NYU College of Arts and Sciences, do you know approximately what time NYU’s CAS transfer orientation ends?

The first day of transfer orientation is no problem for me, but the second day I may be cutting it a bit close. It starts at 9:30 am, but I have a return flight at 6:00 pm from JFK.

Does anyone know what time it ends? 4:00 pm maybe?

Sorry I had to create a new thread about this. Perhaps this can serve as the official NYU Transfer Orientation thread?

Yeah, I already did that, but unfortunately he has left for a vacation (and has responded to me with an automated message) and I need to buy the tickets relatively quickly before the airfare begins to increase.

Am I required to attend both days of orientation?
Yes. Orientation requires your full participation all day on each day, but will not run later than 5pm on any day.

hey, guys. Do you know how to pay the deposit and register for housing since I still not have my accepentce package yet and don’t want to miss some deadline like housing.

They accepted me last Friday, but only sent my package today because of delays in showing interest in my offer (if you were accepted to the study abroad housing, they only sent your package after you replied to their email about it, saying you wanted to go), i.e. the initial email failed and I didn’t receive another until yesterday.

I don’t want to get crappy housing in Florence because of accidental delays :/

Does anyone know if they’re open on Monday since it’s a holiday?

they are not open on Monday. I called today and asked… which is why housing deadline is due June 1 - Tuesday. I am having the same issue too. I just received my packaged recently and without my financial aid award letter i can’t make a decision whether to live on or off campus since its expensive and the deadline for housing is due june 1. sigh

Does anyone know if the deposit is the same for everyone? Like is it the same for the people being forced to study abroad, as well as the people attending the NYC campus?

Nevermind my above post; I found a good answer about deposits.

If anyone is in the same boat as qiangouzi, ydh1021 and myself (i.e. you know you’re accepted and you haven’t received your package yet), the housing deposit is $1000 and payable online at the following address:

This isn’t to say that this will show you your financial aid, but if you know you’re attending no matter what, it definitely saves a frantic phone call on Tuesday.

Is there a separate DEPOSIT FOR NYU?
for is it just the housing deposit?
since i got my package lateee im planning to do it by online
but don’t know if there’s separate NYU desposit

Thanks for the information both from Stryke and octoberbay! @Stryke.So you mean we don’t need to pay the 1000 deposit as on the nyu bursar? If so, where we should pay 500 and 300?

Stryke is right. I found that out today and forgot to post it. The initial housing deposit is $300, but you need to fill out a reply form that comes with your acceptance package, so you cannot do this by 1 June. It just means that the 1 June deadline does not apply to us. We have two weeks to reply, starting the day we get the package. Only after that, are we considered late.

Sorry, should have been more clear. Initially, there is a deposit of $500 for tuition and $300 for housing. Then, there is another $1000 deposit for housing, but you should get more details on that in your acceptance package.
