NYU vs. Long Island University Summer Intern Housing

Hello Everyone,

I currently have an internship offer in New York City for the summer and trying to decide on housing between Long Island University Brooklyn Campus and NYU. The distance via subway for my internship would be the same. I have put $500 down for my housing at NYU for Goddard Hall but not hearing good reviews about the dorm. LIU-Brooklyn Campus has a great offer for $1700 for the whole summer and trying to decide which living situation would be better. My internship is 10 weeks and just want to live comfortably without any problems with the amount of money that I am going to put down. Any suggestions??? I am thinking about changing to LIU because the dorms seem newer than Goddard Hall.

To my knowledge, the NYU summer housing only goes into early August (I’d have to look up this year’s dates and I haven’t). Did you notice that? So, it may end before your internship ends. Is Goddard the only dorm you could stay in for the summer? My D used NYU summer housing (it was a free perk for a job she did one summer at NYU) but was in an air conditioned apartment style dorm right in Union Square (Palladium or University Hall…It was one of these, I forget now).
