Which school is more academically challenging, has better professors, and better programs (I’m undecided but interested in psychology, philosophy, politics, and English). I need to decide if I will transfer from Skidmore to NYU and want more challenging work, but I don’t know if NYU will provide it or if NYU is just a good brand name.

I guess it depends upon your program of study. You are trying to compare a small lberal arts college with very large university. Besides your program of study you might consider the other aspects that you are looking for in your collegiate experience.

I am considering the other aspects. I concluded that academics is most important and that I would only transfer if NYU’s academics, especially in the programs I mentioned (psychology, philosophy, politics, and English) were significantly better. Are they?!

philosophy- ranked #1 in the nation
politics- think United Nations - some of the professors work/have worked there = great professors with real world experience
English- think of the countless journalism internships

…but I’m still only a hs senior so don’t just listen to me
