Thank you so much for your quick response… And congratulations! All the best to you.
Wave today?
I hope so, but unlikely. We’ll know soon enough though
I called admissions today and asked if any of the schools were full, and the woman said they don’t release that information
ACCEPTED! Into GLS spring, but NYU
@chowchewy Congratulations!
Were you notified today? Did you originally apply to CAS? Also, did you add GLS as an alternate in the original waitlist form? Thank you!
Accepted GLS spring
Originally waitlisted for CAS
Only checked off CAS and Stern on the waitlist
Best of luck!
@PHS2019 yep, yep, and nope!
@Rangopop and @Chowchewy What were your intended majors?
So they can place you in GLS (Spring) even if you never asked to be considered?
@Rangopop Congratulations!
I was admitted to Steinhardt MCC for Paris spring 2020 admission. I was so so hoping to get off the waitlist but now i feel really dismayed because i rejected a similar program from BU because I didn’t want to start in spring. I put down my deposit at the University of Washington which I like, but don’t love but it’s way cheaper than NYU and I would start on time. I’m feeling very lost and unsure of what to do, so if anyone has any guidance please let me know.
Accepted into MCC for spring 2020. I really wanted to go before but now I don’t know. I don’t really want to go to Paris and it would kind of feel like being a transfer and i really don’t know now. If someone could offer any guidance please do because I’m so torn
@ssmmgh @captainamerica7 especially if you didn’t receive aid, it’s not worth it. Starting in spring means missing the [good] freshman welcome events they hold in the fall, finding it harder to make friends, having a gap semester when you don’t want it, starting in another country which can just be discomforting, also regarding NYU in general: city life is HARD to adjust to, it’s listed as so many people’s dream school but I feel they’re influenced by the allure of NYC and they’re not looking at it realistically. Respect to NYU but it’s def overhyped by the class of 2023 for some reason. Also U of Washington will give you a great education and def a valuable degree. Start getting excited about where you already put down your deposit and don’t look back at NYU. NYU left you on a waitlist for months and then offers you January admission in another country … it’s not worth it. (imo). I would suggest getting more opinions tho
if anyone was wondering, i saw 2 ppl on reddit get into stern last night i’m feeling completely hopeless now…
Does anyone know if they have ever given stern students spring admission also?
@PHS2019 Thank you! I applied originally Politics for CAS
@HelpBot At on the nyu website, they only offer spring admission for Liberal Studies, Tandon, and then Steinhardt, so I’m pretty sure Stern doesn’t offer spring
@salster Same!
There has been absolutely no movement in CAS so far (LSP GLS excluded).
Last year no one on here got off WL to CAS… starting to lose hope!
my friend got into cas in the first wave but she declined
@aisha1229 CAS in the Fall? Do you know what major? Thanks.
Hey guys I need your advice. I already put down my deposit for JHU (Johns Hopkins University) for neuroscience which I know is far more prestigious than NYU, however I live in manhattan and NYU would be favorable in a sense where I wouldn’t have to travel. Should I just give up on NYU and finally let go? I want to make a decision even before I hear anything back from the waitlist (if I do). What do you guys think?
