@Oneiota2 it’s on actual imessages and on Snapchat. Is there a way to direct message on here so I can get your info and add you?
Does NYUAD take people from the waitlist?
E-mail today saying majority of spots are filled and they will notify everyone of final chances by Aug 1st
Did everyone receive this email?
I personally feel like we all still have hope. Last year, they sent an email during the first week of June stating that the waitlist was closed. It seems to be different this year.
@6666666666 I agree. We still shouldn’t expect anything, but it’s definitely different this year and we might still have a shot!
Last (2018 for the class of 2022) year the email that was sent out in the first week of June read:
Dear X,
As promised, I am writing to provide you with an update on the status of your application to NYU.
At this point in time, all of our programs and campuses are at capacity. We very likely will not have any additional spaces to award.
If we are able to extend a space to you, we will notify you by email sometime before August 1. I will write again on or just after August 1 with a final update unless you are no longer interested in NYU. If you are no longer interested in being considered for admission to NYU, you can remove yourself from the waitlist.
Finally, we respectfully ask that you do not send any additional emails or letters whatsoever (either directly or from others) to affirm your interest in NYU. Please rest assured that we will give you the closest possible consideration if any space becomes available.
Sincerely,
Jonathan B. Williams
Associate Dean and Director of Admissions
For anyone who got the email this year - how was the email that was sent this week different than the above?
@CaMom13 This was the email from this year:
Dear X,
Thank you, as always, for your patience with our waitlist process. We wanted to provide this update about our waitlist activity so far.
To date, we have admitted just over 350 students off of the waitlist to begin at NYU in the fall. In addition to fall admission, we have admitted an additional cohort of students to begin in the spring semester in Liberal Studies, and at NYU’s Steinhardt and Tandon schools. We anticipate that these groups represent the majority of the waitlist offers that we will make this year, but we will continue to monitor available space over the coming weeks.
Regardless of your waitlist status or school/program of interest, we ask that you do not send any additional credentials, letters of recommendation, to our office. In our waitlist review process, we primarily consider the original application you presented, and additional materials will not increase your likelihood of admission.
We know that the uncertainty that comes with waitlist status can be stressful, so we will do our best to keep you updated on your status whenever possible. You can expect another update on the status of our waitlist no later than August 1.
Sincerely,
Jonathan B. Williams
Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Admissions
Thanks!
