NYU waitlist 2024 (class 2028)

An “indicator” is a sign that you’re about to be admitted. Two possible indicators are:

  1. You check for housing and see that there is an option to register for Fall 2024 housing. Right now everyone’s says “Summer 2024”only. You can access this by going to NYU Home in your browser. When you get there, log in with your applicant id. On the next screen, type “Housing Forms” in the search bar. That will take you to the housing options currently available. Again,if you seen anything about Fall 2024, that may be an indicator that you will be offered admission.
  2. The checklist of application items in your applicant portal disappears.

I forgot to show yall this but I emailed the head of admissions about when I should expect to hear back about waitlist and this is what she said. So keep holding out hope until may is over but when June comes around, set your mind toward your other college.

Thanks for reaching out. It’s difficult to predict when you may hear back, as we send out waitlist decisions on a rolling basis to certain populations based on yield from previous releases. We are hoping to complete our waitlist process by the end of May, but you may not receive a definitive yes or no until August 1.

Alright last update. I emailed her basically asking about why nobody has gotten off the CAS waitlist and if should expect a large wave and this is what she said.

I’m afraid that I’m not able to share that information with you. Our process is continually changing, based on various factors, so I wouldn’t want to share something that may be true right now but that could very well change in the next day/week/month.

Rejection therapy at its finest but at least we know that there’s not much we or even they know.

Institutional priorities… Cannot be shared outside the admissions committee. But thanks for trying… At this point if something happens it’s a bonus.
