At this point I am thinking that may be they have enough CAS commits and so they may not need to use waitlist much. All the students who originally applied CAS got admitted got into LSC and not CAS. Hope I am proven wrong in the next few days.

nyu doing too much now, I’m loosing it ngl
Math time: around 120k applicants, 8% acceptance rate, around 9600 accepted, let’s say yield rate is around 60% this year, 5760 enrolled, nyu graduating class around 7000-8000, let’s say 7000, and maybe some spots for transfer students, there should be way more students off the waitlist to fill the class

Same…since they did LSC and Tisch, do you think the next wave (Friday?) will be Stern, Steinhardt, Tandon, and SPS? Since that was the 2nd wave…
got in for tisch film. so shocked!!! rd, no aid but i applied for it

A while back someone in the admissions world told me colleges have 20% more in upper division (3rd and 4th year) than lower division (1st and 2nd year) and their biggest constraint for undergrad admissions is housing… if that is indeed true, this math isn’t air tight. I would assume they did their best predicting this year’s yield and the only surprise factor could be from the FAFSA mess, Supreme Court affirmation order, and the protests…

Just got in LS Spring 2025 instead of CAS Fall 2024…hadn’t really researched LS or delayed Spring start as would like to have same freshman start experience as ret of class not play catchup by taking classes all next summer???

Hi, guys! I’ve been reading this thread for quite some time now, but this is my first comment. My daughter got into Tisch for film and television today (RD and no FA). Earlier today, she had the housing indicator first and then her checklist disappeared. Her decision showed up on the Albert portal before she received her official acceptance letter. They gave her until May 19th to accept.
Thank you for all the info and support, everyone! We put down the May 1st deposit at another college that she didn’t want to go to, and each day of waiting has been really tough as you all know too well. Congratulations to everyone else who got into NYU and best of luck to those of you still waiting. Please stay strong and positive. We’ve been manifesting and praying for weeks now. Hope to see you all at NYU!

don’t think it’s possible to switch once you’ve been admitted, if ur spring start then you have to take summer classes to catch up
Looking into that, seems right that I have to accept what they offer not what I wanted, was hoping at least to have Fall start or CAS, makes it a little trickier to figure out not getting either of those (CAS Fall) but happy to have something as was getting down. Oh btw got indicator of checklist disappeared so immediately checked application status update letter link
