**** NYU Waitlist of 2021****

is there any news from steinhardt?

@Miti66 That does seem too much… What do you want to major in? Anyway, until further notice, we should still assume that there might be a few more spots.

@AhMesAmis I applied Journalism major. Do you have to take special steps to be enrolled in the Spring 2018 term? BEcause I didn’t see the option in the RSVP form

@Miti66 I didn’t see an option neither.

@AhMesAmis Then I guess they give out spring admission with the fall admission

does anyone know when we have to accept the admission by? I can’t find it

@kiloecho within 72 hours i believe

Hey guys, I got accepted into the Liberal Studies Program for Spring 2018 from the waitlist.

@whatyouflex did you get an email or check albert and if so when? also, did you get an interest email?

@zouthbeach I have no idea what an interest email is so could you please explain it to me?
Also, I got an email last night at 5, telling me that my NYU Admissions Decision is available. I then go to the Albert portal, and I click my application status. I see my decision letter and an option to accept or decline. I accepter the offer :slight_smile:

@whatyouflex congrats!!! that’s awesome. people have been receiving interest emails asking if they’re still interested in a spot at nyu and then (typically) receiving their actual offer a few days later

Can you post a picture of your acceptance? Curious to see what it looks like as I may never get to see for myself…

@jh1868 Same feeling. Checked emails every hour and feel so hopeless…

Anybody else got an email?

No emails today at all? I’m starting to lose hope…

“did you have to take out any loans? If you received $7k a year, what are the rest of the aid for? Ws it merit or need-based? When did you receive your acceptance?”

@livedexperience8 Sorry for the late reply. I had to take out about $65k/year in loans since my mother doesn’t want to pay it upfront (she makes $200k+/year, though, so it’s fine); $3k in work/study, a subsidized/unsubsidized loan of $6k, and the rest of the $56k in Parent Plus Loans. I got a Liberal Studies Scholarship for $7k a year, so I’m assuming it’s merit based; I scored a 35 on ACT and had NMF status, so I supposed that helped a great deal. I received my acceptance last Thursday, which is May 11.

@SomedayIwill I also received the Liberal Studies Scholarship. However, instead of $7k per year, I received $35k a year. I also received other smaller scholarships, so I only have to pay $20k per year, and NYU fully covered me with loans.

So I just called the admission office, and they told me the activity is not over yet…
They’re still waiting to hear back from the last wave of intrest emails…

@AhMesAmis Wait, so what does that mean? Aren’t there only 24 hours to respond to those emails? Does that mean they won’t be extending offers of admission today or something?

@unin99 Relax my friend, I’m sure what she really meant was that they’re taking time to process the responds.
