**** NYU Waitlist of 2021****

did everyone get the update about the 925 students admitted etc? if not maybe it’s a good sign for those who did get it? I got waitlisted and i originally applied as a global liberal studies major but on the waitlist form i put down LS, Steindhart, Gallatin and CAS. Do you guys think i put down too many? I’m also wondering if expressing interest to my local rep is a good idea or nah

Just got taken off the waitlist
No interest email but I think my RSVP form made it clear I wanted to go here
Spring 2018 LSP
Prob accepting
Good luck to everyone!

@oahameedi Congratulations! When did you find out that you’ve been accepted? Did you get an email 3 days ago starting with the following:“I am writing to provide you with an update on the status of your application to NYU. We have, thus far, been able to admit roughly 925 students from our waiting list. In the coming weeks, we may be able to admit additional students if we learn that expected students will not join us this fall.”?
Also, do you mind sharing your stats?

Any updates!?!? Especially Tisch !?

My daughter got an interest letter for CAS on Friday. Does that mean an offer is coming soon? (Hi daughter) :-h

@holdingouthope Pretty much yes! Congratulations! Do you mind sharing some of her stats?

Hey all, I got this email a few days ago with the quote of:

“I am contacting you about your status on our wait list for first-year admission. While we did receive your wait list response form, we also understand that you have most likely made other arrangements since that time.
That said, we may have some space opening at NYU in the College of Arts and Science, and we remain interested in your candidacy.”

Is this what you all mean by an interest lette? I’ve looked on Albert and the decision is still “waitlist,” so if somebody could explain to me what my chances are, that’d be much appreciated.
Also, is anyone concerned about meeting so many people from your current college and then being thrust into the NYU environment, wiping away those two or three months of progress?

@AhMesAmis Not my place to do so, but I’m sure if and when it becomes official she will post stats herself. Good luck to you!

@Periodically2nd Yes that’s the said “interest email.” You should immediately reply them regarding your thoughts on the possible admission. If NYU is really where you want to attend this fall, then just go for it!
Do you mind posting your stats as well?

@holdingouthope No problem! The admission is pretty much guaranteed, since there’s yet to be a person who ends up not getting an offer after receiving the interest email! So I can even say an early congratulations!

Well, here’s hoping, right? Number 9 pre-med in the country.
3.6 or so GPA, 95% average
APs:
Chemistry, US History, Calculus AB, Biology, Literature and Comp, Language and Comp.
SAT: 1380

Math: 650
My essay was pretty good, it’s a long story.
President of Robotics and Drama Club, Lead Roles in Musical theater, National Honor Society, Scholarships for writing and vocal music

I hope thats helpful for stats!

@Periodically2nd That’s helpful, and like I said, everyone who had received an interest mail got in, so just relax!

To anyone who got an interest email, do you remember what the survey said.

@sonia196 Something like this:
"“I am contacting you about your status on our wait list for first-year admission. While we did receive your wait list response form, we also understand that you have most likely made other arrangements since that time.
That said, we may have some space opening at NYU in the (school name)****, and we remain interested in your candidacy.”

I meant the survey attached to the email. I have this bad feeling that I pressed the wrong thing.

@AhMesAmis Don’t give people false information/false hope. An INTEREST LETTER does NOT mean guaranteed ACCEPTANCE.

@inesta15 Can you please explain? It seems @AhMesAmis has done her research. Why do you disagree?

@Iniesta15 I suppose so… Stern might just be an exception though :frowning:
People applying to other schools all seemed to receive offers in the end.
