I know that there aren’t any updates yet on the admissions blog since then end of May, but does anyone know of any approximate dates for when the next wave of admissions reply may roll out?
Just received the email from Shawn Abbott.
“As promised, I am writing to provide you with another update on the status of your application to NYU.
At this point in time, all of our programs and campuses are still at capacity. We do not have any additional spaces to award.
If we are able to extend a space to you, we will notify you by email sometime before August 1. I will write again in July with another update unless you are no longer interested in NYU. If you are no longer interested in NYU, just let me know by replying with your request and your NYU ID number.
Please do not send us any additional materials at this time. I thank you once again for your patience.”
Sincerely,
Shawn L. Abbott
Sorry all… This is the end of the road for us.
I just don’t get it…it’s June and literally NO ONE (based on this forum) has been admitted into Steinhardt off the waitlist. I simply don’t understand. I hate the way this waitlist process is playing around with my feelings, giving hope, but not really… Why
I got that email too but I also received an interest email about a week prior so I’m confused.
@quiteabeaan what school did you apply to if I may know?
CAS
same @quiteabeaan
I applied to the College of Arts and Sciences’ pre-med program and received an interest letter about a week-and-a-half ago. While it is extremely competitive, I was still hopeful. A few hours ago I received the same email that a few others got saying that all the programs are at capacity. I believe that we were all misinformed about the ‘definite’ nature of our acceptances based upon receiving an interest letter. While not entirely surprised - I did keep my hopes low for this outcome - I am a little disappointed, but I would just like to make sure that everyone knows that the waitlist is extremely competitive. Chances are, if you applied to NYU and were waitlisted, you have another great University on the line. So embrace it, grab that sweatshirt or hoodie with your current college tagged on the front and wear it with pride. At the end of the day, NYU is just another place. And believe me, I live about an hour outside Manhattan. It’ll still be there when you get back.
@Periodically2nd Couldn’t have said it better. Good luck to all in any and all future endeavors!
Hi guys! I’m new to this. But I had a question for all of you. I recently received an email saying that my financial aid award is available to view. However, my admission decision still says waitlisted. Does anyone know what that means? Or has this happened to anyone else
@zoeys1014 Just email the admissions office for clarification!
Should I just give up hope now? To be honest, I’d rather have them reject me now than later…
