What are your SATs? Extra-curricular activities?

based on your stats alone hell you could get into any school at NYU

you have perfect grades, and at my school you would have a 4.0 because there are no “A-” or “A+”

coupled with above 1900 SAT, decent essays, and OKAY EC’s, I would say in at any school at NYU [Stern of course, you would need a 2050+ SAT, just in case]

u think?
thanks, what about Wisconsin? or Michigan? or Columbia
by the way i got a 720 Verbal, 680 Math, and a 700 Writing YAY UBER HAPPY! So a total 2100 on the SAT and a 34 on the ACT Comp and a 31 on ACT Math
AND I am involved in Habitat for Humanity
have over 550 Hours of Community SService
MEMber of NHS
Captain of Swim Team
Bando( GOTTA LOVE THE BAND)

Keep in mind that NYU has suddenly become quite a bit more competitive to get into. I got rejected this year (but im going to Notre Dame which is a much better school) with a good average, 2220 sat score, 217 psat score, president of 2 clubs, team captain of 2 academic teams, club award recipient, and a whole slew of academic awards. What im trying to say is, people who previously were sure bets are no longer sure bets at getting into nyu.

you got rejected RED???

wow where did you apply?

yah i kno
but what do u think my chances are at Carnegie Mellon, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin-Madison, or Notre Dame are? oh and U IL-Urbana~Champaign?

I don’t know about other schools, but i know UMich, because it’s public, accepts a good number of applicants.
To give you a reference, I got into both Stern NYU and UMich, but rejected from Wharton.

I applied to 13 schools:
Accepted:
SUNY Stony Brook (Presidential and University Scholar)
SUNY Binghamton (Deans Scholar)
University of Dallas (Presidential Scholar)
University of Rochester (Founders Scholar)
George Washington University
Boston University
University of Notre Dame

Waitlisted
WashU
UMich
Boston College
College of the Holy Cross

Rejected:
NYU
USC

As you can see, almost all of my reaches and matches rejected/waitlisted me, which is symptomatic of the new super competitiveness of college admissions.

gilderswat, your chances to wisconsin are very good, michigan is a match and notre dame is a match for no one. but that being said you have a pretty good shot.

luck of the irish to ya! lol.

wow Red ***??? you had a 2200!!! way higher than any average of ALL the schools you applied to…its good enough for Ivy league schools.

it really sucks sometimes…I guess this is what they mean by “random” admissions.

YAY FOR THE IRISH!
Thanks
Yah Notre Dame is IMPOSSIBLE!
lol
