We are coming from California and we would like to visit both schools during spring break. How far a drive is it from one to the other? Any suggestions on how to do this with ease would be most appreciated. Thank you!

I believe that Kenyon is a little more than two hours from Oberlin. Oberlin is outside of Cleveland, Kenyon is outside of Columbus.

[Google Maps](http://www.maps.google.com)

you’d probably want to fly into Cleveland, rent a car and go to Oberlin, then Kenyon. You might want to check out Denison too, which is very close to Kenyon (maybe 45 minutes drive)–we saw it as an afterthought while seeing Kenyon and Oberlin and my son ended up applying to all three. You could also fly into Columbus and drive to all three.

We saw Oberlin and Kenyon last Monday. It can definitely be done, but Yahoo maps sure took us on some back roads to get there.

Yeah. Whoa. Be careful: those backroads are confusing and not so fun to use.

There are a lot of schools in that area. I would check out as many as possible as long as your there. I would try Wooster and Earlham as well if your interested in Oberlin. They both had the kind of granola feel that Oberlin did and I think Wooster is less than an hour away. Then again if I remember correctly I fell asleep on the way there. :D

Earlham (my alma mater) is about 3 hours from Oberlin in Richmond, Indiana. Assuming it has not changed much, it would still have a “granola” feel as a Quaker college. It is a little under-rated, in part because it refuses to cooperate with US News. But it is listed in the book “Colleges That Change Lives.” I thought it was a great school for me, but my daughters refuse to even look at it.
