I’m currently trying to decide between Davis and SB, so I’m visiting both campuses in the next couple days I know SB has several classes that I can just simply walk into and watch, but I couldn’t find something similar on the Davis website.

Does anyone know if Davis allows any kind of observation at all? Or which number I should call to ask?

Oh noo it’s common to just get up and leave…or come in late. I “sampled” a class when I was in LA and left 3 minutes into it…hahaha : ) (you might get a couple looks)

I should actually go back to Davis on a weekday to see the classes : D

lol…I remember doing that when I was deciding which college to go to.

If anybody wants, I can show u guys around campus and suggest classes to sit in according to what ur interested in. (as long as it’s after this week Friday =/ Have a few midterms this week)

To tell you the truth…when I sat in the lectures 2 years ago…I got pretty bored.

Sitting in lectures gives you a good idea on how your next two years in college (all colleges, not just UCD) will be at, and you probably won’t be able to see any differences between the colleges you are choosing through the lectures that you attend.

Bis2A might be a bit boring for you guys though…they are going over stuff that you already know (cells structures, mitosis, meiosis). How about you try Bis2C? I thought 2C was way more interesting than Bis2A or Bis2B (since in 2C they talk about evolution and phylogeny) It’s MWF from 10:10-11am in socialsci1100.

Almost everyone will all have to take chem2 series, so you might want to sit in those lectures. It’s MWF 0210-0300PM at CHEM194. You also might want to try Bis101 or anything above 100s as it’s the upperdivs (courses you will take after your 2nd year)

If you’d like to attend an upper div class, there’s NPB 101 (Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior - Systemic Physiology) from 4 to 5 all week, right before BIS 2A and in the same building, so you can kill two birds with one stone. Pretty much all pre-health students need to go through that course.

A girl I know is taking MCB 10 (Molecular and Cellular Biology - Intro to Human Heredity) and says it’s pretty interesting. It’s taught 4:30 - 6 PM on Monday and Wednesday in SocSci 1100.

Those are some awesome suggestions…is it worth it to see the classes, especially the upper-divs? (if I visit Friday, it’ll be my third time in one week)
