Lately, I have been super obsessed with looking up colleges, every statistic about them, and never even applying to some of the schools. I know it is a waste of time and honestly, could probably be considered a diagnosable condition. I just wanted to check to see if I am the only one… 
Compare yourself to an ardent sports fan who knows players, coaches, team owners and statistics, both currently and through time. Your involvement would have to be greater than this for it to be considered serious.
Do you spend more or less time than you do texting or watching TV?

I’m sure it’s not a big deal – I just want to get out of school and really do something for the world; looking up how many tiles there are in the Georgetown kitchens makes me feel closer to that. Plus, jumping around on 11 tabs is really good for my short attn span

If this continues beyond the normal college application season, you can actually get a job in the field doing exactly this. It is called institutional research and it is growing fast!
You should check out both the Chronicle of Higher Education as well as Inside Higher Ed. Both are publications which examine a variety of school specific and general news, issues, and trend occurring in post secondary studies.
You may also wish to read some of Constance Illoh’s papers which examine aspects of higher education not typically discussed on CC.
