obsession

I’m pretty sure that most people that want to go to MIT have an obsession with the school. I got into wanting to go to MIT through very unique circumstances. What are yours? (Just curious because some people know at a very young age why they want to go and it may be for a simple reason.)

after i started reading the blogs and learning about the people and culture, I knew I was hooked with the school. I was also raised there so I still have memories of the “winter wonderland” scenery of Boston (I really miss the snow, california is way too hot, lol).

I blame my mom. She brain washed me from a young age, telling me how great it was for her. But I am glad she did, because I really think it is a perfect fit for me.

I actually moved to USA about 11 months ago because my family came here so i came here.
I cleared the IIT-JEE 2008 with an ALL INDIA RANK of 241 which is Hecka good, but when i came to US i wasn’t able to find any college fit for me and actually decided to move back and enroll in IIT. One day, my High School Physics teacher in US told me about MIT and i decided to visit MIT and that was the greatest day in my life and i actually got fanatical about going to MIT.

BEST OF LUCK TO ALL EA APPLICANTS!!!

My friend goes there and loves it…I became obsessed cause we are like the same person

My mentor haha… the man is a neurosurgeon haha and wanted to do geophysics at MIT cuz a prof of his in saudi arabia taught there and told him he should… im glad he didnt end up doing geophysics and instead went onto being a neurosurgeon… the man is a genius and he said i should apply WOOT… first school i really heard about was Johns Hopkins believe it or not… and that place is awesome.

i have no clue whyyyyyyyy
but i love it a lot :)

well, i guess it is because MIT is just the toughest. I always hated it in HS when teachers would disrespect my abilities and make me to baby stuff. I am sure that MIT presents students with the greatest challenge, thus enabling them to learn more and become beastly thinkers.

^^^lol.

I knew MIT is a great school (since my older half sister graduated from there 10 years ago and I would hear stories), but I had no idea how awesome it was until I went to work in a harvard-MIT lab with a MIT professor for the past summer. =D. I think I ever since liked MIT more after that. lol.

@prime235: You’ll be singing a different tune when you go outside to that “winter wonderland” and it’s ~10 degrees out, plus wind chill. =P

^^ yea I figured it was better in the movies, haha. if only there was just snow…
