Joining the party, D26 got in too! We are excited. Such a great school and location.
My daughter is thrilled with getting admitted to Oxy. We’ve visited a couple of times. Really great school! At this point, we’re waiting to hear back from a few UC’s. Oxy is definitely in the running. Terrific opportunity!
S26 got waitlisted (Physics). We knew it was a higher target school for him, so not totally surprised. He’s in at UCSC/UCR and waiting on hearing from the rest of the UCs, CP SLO plus some other CA privates. Congratulations to all those accepted. I know a number of Oxy alums and they all rave about the school
We signed up for one of the Admitted Students Days this morning. So exciting!
Sorry to intrude but congrats to all who got in! Daughter is a junior and loves it. If you’re not from LA and you go to an admitted student day you will likely be swayed by the beautiful setting!

Thank you! It’s always nice to hear about happy students!
Do you know anything about the Marine Biology concentration and/or Biology major? And/or research opportunities?
She is a bio major but not marine. There are research lab opportunities during the year and then you can apply for summer lab research (there are summer opportunities across a range of majors, not just science). They do a good job of lining students up with opportunities. Oh and you can live on campus, they subsidize a room (and board) for students during the summer. It’s a pretty good setup.
My daughter got her acceptance package in the mail today. Fun stuff!
My daughter also got her acceptance package in the mail today. She’s very excited and seriously considering attending as a mathematics major. Two family members have attended and both had great experiences and are successful professionals. This may be the one! Go Tigers!
Was able to get a travel grant to visit! If you have financial need and haven’t visited - it’s a lovely opportunity.
I really hope my daughter chooses Oxy. She is still waiting for UC school decisions, but I really think Oxy is so much better for so many reasons. Looking forward to Admitted Students Day— I hope they really sell her on the school.
Did you know to ask for this, or was it volunteered?
It’s advertised on the admitted student page link
Occidental Class of 2030 Results Survey:
This form is for tracking decision results, so it’s all centralized for future students. If you could fill this out once you get your decision, that would be very appreciated!
You can see all other people’s individual responses in the links above, along with overall form statistics (such as what percent got accepted).
My DD was accepted, but only $18k in merit/ aid. So sad, it’s not financially feasible for us. We are from the East Coast, but we’re in at Purdue. Which is reasonable, even OOS.
My D26 is heavily considering Oxy. She signed up to shadow a student and we plan to attend the accepted student day in April. Looking forward to it!
We are also going to an admitted students day and looking forward to it! Flights and hotel all booked.
We only got $15k in merit, and about $10k in need based aid, so not much toward making it affordable. I hear you.
We are seriously considering b/c of the pre-health program- despite the cost
Congratulations! One thing to dig into is the networking and alumni opportunities. My daughter is a Diplomacy World Affairs kid, and she found mentors in the alumni network who were life-changing! Happy exploring your options!
