***Oct 2014 SAT (US ONLY)***

@sat2014‌ congratssss!!! Waaayy to go

Superscore composite now 2370 w/ june 800 writing score.
On the oct. exam I scored:
800 CR
770 Math (almost positive -1 is 770 for this here math curve)

@icepierre‌ thanks! I guess the CR curve was harsh after all. shocked essay got a 9…

Damn this math curve. To think I thought it was going to be -1 800 LOL

@sat2014 Great job and good luck with your applications!

I got an 8 essay… I do not understand it. @Mystic7‌ have you thought about taking math ii? It’s easier to get a good score if you’re better at more mathy math on that. Also, there’s no stupid curve. I think i’m gonna take that.

No harsh curve*

@PeZ1997‌
Lol I got the exact same scores as you. Not bad on the 1600 scale though.
W: 700 9 Essay
M:800
CR: 730
Composite: 2230

Also guys you think I should retake in December? I’m a senior and it should come in time for RD. Writing is my best subject. With the barrons 2400 I consistently get 780-800 in Writing. I think I can get a 2350 at least if I retake it(4th). Thoughts?

I might give it a shot. I’ve just spent so much time studying for the SAT that it feels like a waste unless I get that 800 in math.
And yeah, can’t believe I got an 8 on a 2 page essay with two reasonable examples and fancy vocabulary. Really annoyed about that

Would you care to share the examples you used @Mystic7? Perhaps i could offer some advice if you are planning to take the SAT again
Note: *Scored 11&12 on my SAT essays with an 800 Writing Section score

Should I retake? I am really satisfied with my scores from the test which was my first sitting.
800 math,800 reading

However I got a 720 in writing with a 75 MC score and 8 essay. I knew right after the test that the writing score would be low as I wasn’t comfortable with the essay. I am confident that I can get 760+ the next time I take it. So should I retake?

I took a bunch of proctored practice tests and never scored below a 770 on math or writing but never scored above a 670 on critical reading. But i got a 690 on math and writing and 760 on reading. ■■■?! Hopefully I can get an 800 on math and writing in december so my superscore will be a 2360!

Guys is a 1960 bad? I thought my score would go over a 2000, but it didn’t. :(( Oh well, still got November. I really hope this November test can save me. I know I can still get a better score, but its just the reading was not to bad, but I am surprised. If you want to know what I got on each section here it is:

Composite: 1960

Math: 750
CR: 610
Writing: 600 with essay 10

P.S. Good job @sat2014 I knew you could break 1800.

2030 is fine by me, 2040 Superscore… October 15th scores come out November 6th UGHHHHHHHH (School Day takers will feel for me as well LOL)…

640 CR
690 M
700W lol

.

That was a super weird prompt, almost ACT style lol…

I’m not sure to feel about my score yet. Realistically, I think I was hoping for 2200+, although I’d really like 2300+. I’m a junior, so I guess I still have time though I wanted it just done and out of the way…

750 CR
730 Math
710 Writing (9 Essay)
2190 composite (how ugly, 10 more points would have made the score look decent)

I don’t know what happened with math, so I’m rather upset about that. I know for a fact that I’m better at math than critical reading…I guess the curve was bad. I actually took the SAT after 8th grade and I got 750 that time…so that’s pretty wonderful. 3 years of math and I’ve only gotten worse.

Can I have some advice? I’m not a great writer, so I can obviously work on that. I guess I’ll wait for my score report to see what happened with math. There were a few sections that left me feeling a bit rushed and I was feeling awful that day, so I could probably do a little bit better without any more practice if I were to take it again. The last couple hundred points are always hard to get, so if anyone has any suggestions, they’d be much appreciated. How long should I wait before taking it again, should I do more review, etc? (btw, this is my first SAT as an actual high schooler, haven’t really taken an “official” practice one with a graded essay and whatnot)

Still cant believe the math curve was harsh lol

My score was the same as last time but superscoring it’s a 670 math, 600 cr, 620 writing. Only 90 point increase. I’m just exhausted of trying. What’s the likelihood of actually going up 110 points in 1 month? Like I’m so sick of this.

Thanks for all the good times here. Almost 300 pages. Been fun being here with you guys. Good luck with whatever you guys do next. I won’t be on the November thread because I’m officially done with the SAT but when score reports come out, I will definitely try to help figure out the curves. Looks like the CR and M curves sucked :P

I got a 2160. -_-
750 CR
750 M
660 W (8 E)

I swear I did really well on the writing portion. I wrote this emotional, life changing essay about how character is not only part of education, but also necessary. I structured it with two body paragraphs, examples from AP english 11 about the Gatsby and Grapes of Wrath, and biology… Last test, I structured my essay with 3 topic points, and concluded with Zac Efron saying “we’re all in this together”, and got a 10. -_-

I really pooped on the writing, got 68/80 and that 8 writing. I don’t really understand it. Everything seemed so easy. I’m not too upset tho.

I have a superscore now of 790M 750CR 730W = 2270, which should get me some money somewhere, hopefully.
