Yay I knew I remembered a 6. Thanks guys. :)

I definitely guessed and checked on that problem hehehe

yay i got the 6 one also =]

The answer for that 2spheres in a cone is 4 pi r(cubed)

so having ascended ridge one
i put no error
it was like
the climbers ascending the ridge, they blah blah
why would it be having ascended

I’m pretty sure there was an error in that sentence, and I’m pretty sure it was “Having ascended,” although I really don’t remember. I think there was a problem with tense agreement?

but
having ascended the ridge doesn make sense since they were still climbing

then what was it?

I know I’m a little late, but the sentence said something like “The climbers ascending the ridge, they didn’t want to go back down” which doesn’t form a sentence and is probably some kind of comma splice.

Also, in regards to the fact that they were still climbing, I took the sentence to mean that the climbers got to a certain point on the mountain, the ridge, and after that it renewed their drive to continue climbing? Or something. I put “having ascended” and I’m quite sure on it.

i did the same thing as you too highhopes.

Also, did you get “to be” as one of your answers?

Yep, the “to be” one was something about African ceramics or something. “The pottery is considered to be some of the best in African history” or something – the other answers overcomplicated it.

hey, does anyone remember the specifics of the census question (the african american businessman)…i remember putting it was an important source of info to historians, i remember not putting the balancing interests thing for a good reason…

I put balancing interests. He was balancing his 2 roles: businessman and activist. Responding would have helped
his activism but would have been a bad business move.

I think I put the balancing of interests, too, for the same reasons ChoklitRain mentioned

^ I put it shows his commitment to the movement. He insidiously showed support but privately didn’t for some reason.

but that guy wasn’t the one taking the census…it was the other two people that they talked about in the passage

Eh, I put importance of the census because it emphasized the word “massive”. I have no idea if it is right or not. Did the question asked about the word “massive” or why the census was important overall?

The other two guys were taking the census, and he supported their cause, but refused to answer the business-related questions because he didn’t want everybody to know his finances, so he was balancing the interests

And I thought the question was more along the lines of “what did the inclusion of the paragraph about the massive census tell us” in which case something like “that Forten had to balance his different interests” would make sense

To everyone who didn’t put balancing interests: Y’ALL GOT FOOLED

I would like to know specifically how I ‘got fooled’ ;)

Aw… it was about the paragraph, not the word =( ?
