thats not what i said^^. doesn’t it have to be a 30-60-90 triangle, since it is an equilateral triangle and the base is cut in half when you pull out the right triangle with h=leg?? it said that e=m, so the original trinangle is equilateral, right?

hey guys, I really hope you all fared well

My last grid-in was about (a-1.2), but I was wondering what the answer was?

I think I bubbled in 1.2 instead of 4.2

It said SQUARE base though dude. Think about it. Square bases create ninetry degree angles and therefore 2 45 degree angles. So it had to have been m / square root of 2 for the length of the vertex to center.

you know what, never mind, i think i see what i’ve done. gah i hate the sats.

Okay, lets move on, please. I need to find some more of my mistakes for peace of mind.

And also by using your method you ONLY know e = m. Yes this does tell you that the triangles are equilateral. This tells you that in your equation you are solving for M^2 = H^2 + (the thing we are looking for)
The thing we are looking for is the base. Which can be found because it creates a 45-45-90 triangle. So if its a 45 45 90 triangle then A^2 + A^2 = M^2 where A denotes the length of the base
2A^2 = M^2
A^2 = M^2/2
A = M/square root of 2.
Now that is your base which
So
M^2 = H^2 - (m/square root of 2)^2
Solve that you get m/square root of 2

psykomantium, i’m pretty sure the last grid in was 4.2, not the other one. Because the other one would be -1.2 and it said a must be greater than 0.

I wouldn’t assume because you’re getting all the answers here you’re going to get an 800…I don’t want to be a downer but half the mistakes I make are on the easy questions. And I had 0 time to check any of my answers on this test >_<

I cant believe I couldnt get the WXYZ one.
I omitted like 5 or 6 and got many wrong because maths was so hard. That was proabbly the hardest sat maths that i ever came across.

Anyone remember any more problems?

ANSWER TO THE E = M, M/RT 2 QUESTION:[Click here! Huge image.](<a href=“Boomspeed.Com ~ Image Hosting ~ E-Mail ~ Auction Sniping”>Boomspeed.Com ~ Image Hosting ~ E-Mail ~ Auction Sniping)

That was how I did the problem (again), and because I am such an amazing geek, I even wrote it all out with my mouse… Does it seem conclusive enough for you math people? During the exam I did the 45-45-90 triangle method, which saved me the time and effort… but yeah, a second proof of that problem.

Hello everyone, what was the answer to the rain question?. 30 days and 1/3 rains, and 2 days it didn’t rain?. Was the answer 7? thanks

i’m too lazy to actually check the math but it looks like it’s very well done and i also got m/rt2 for my answer :)

how did everyone do the parabola one where the answer was 4.2…i got 1.2

^ i got 4.2
1.2 would have been -1.2
But it states that a>0

0= k(a-4.2)(a+1.2)

jhkoreacanada:
I had 18 rain, 12 dry, difference 6.

Yeah, I for some reason thought april had 31 days. smart.

^but it stated that april had 30 days

all you people that only missed like one or two are SO lucky. i mean i’m lucky if i get anything over my previous score of 600
good luck on scoring!

in no way, shape, or form is that luck… i think it was parental pressure from an early age that did it lol
