October 2006 - SAT Math Thread

^ indeed, hahaha. basically, if you have a solid math foundation and just basically “get math” without having to refer to what is called as “textbook math” ie being able to use application instead of memorization… then you’re fine

but yeah, i’m not a math person at ALL, i’m praying for above a 700+ myself…

The color answer was indeed 10.

You could only have 2 colors for each design because color one was the same color on both sides leaving color 2 in the middle.

new guy here. i also got 5940, 280k, and 20. was it 10 & 30 for the bee population, and ‘not 30’ for the r^2st & rst problem? because 30’s not divisible into 40 or 200…

dude omg
color was 20
do we have to write out the combinations again -_-
it wasn’t even hard

why is it 20?! is it because red-blue isn’t the same as blue-red? i don’t want to flip through 33 pages, hahaha… could someone please quote it or post it again? thanks :(

sorry to bother you, but do you remember exactly how the sentence for the rain question was phrased?
I read it very quickly and thought that 1/3 of 30days, there was rain, and for 2 days it didn’t. So I did 1/3 of 30= 9. Then 9-2 and got 7. So how was the question phrased?

The question was that for every 3 days rain, 2 days of sunshine.

Write them out.

Please do so that I can find your error

For every 3 days of rain, there was one day of sunshine. and 2 days it did not rain.

But 1/3 of 30 is 10?

the rain one, i’m pretty sure, is 6.

look

its either 20 or 40

its definetly not 10.

because C1, C2
1 2
1 3
1 4
1 5
2 1
2 3
2 4
2 5
3 1
3 2
3 4
3 5
4 1
4 2
4 3
4 5
5 1
5 2
5 3
5 4

colors 1,2,3,4,5 the order matters

the rain question

is 12 days of sunshine 18 days of rain

18/12 = 3/2

so it matches

so the question asked how many days of sunshine = 12

I definitely got 9540 for the letters question. I think there was more than one possibility for that question though.

Can someone recall the last grid in question for me?

did anyone get 9% as one of the answers? i cant remember at all the qeustion, but i just remember putting it down. I think it was an (e.)

wow, how does the frigggen order matter when the thing is a baseball?

yes, i got 9%, and i put 20 for that colors/basbeall one.

backfire, the answer was 6. How many more days of rain than sunshine or sth like that

haha, wow, this is hilarious. I’m getting alot right that I’m literally rushing to finish in like seconds. I did the 50 one with the area of the rectangle in like 15 seconds. but I still ended up leaving like 3 or 4 blank total cuz im super slow at math.

2PInZ, i think the parabolic question was the last grid in… 4.2 was the answer i think

no it asked how many days of sunshine was there
