October 2010 - Math II

Guys, i omitted two. Not sure how many i got wrong - between 1 and 6 - but i THINK i got 3 wrong.
So, two omissions and 3 wrong… what would tht be out of 800?

@badrakhandaman- that’s definitely an 800 man… (if its 3 wrong)…
I got one wrong + 6 omits (AND IM STILL EXPECTING AN 800 :stuck_out_tongue: )

dont worry guys upto -7 -8 will be 800…

I got 1 omit and 2 wrong…maybe 800 if curve is lenient

Cheers, guys…you’ve cheered me up a bit.

Timmycho, you took Physics too, right?

@badrakhandaman
Yeah, but I don’t think Ill be able to get 700 and above…only if the curve is really lenient which I doubt because ppl actually did really well on it :frowning:
I also took Chemistry which I hope will cover up for my Physics Score…
What about you badrakhandaman?

I remember getting 8/11 on the question about the probability of selecting a number 1 or greater.

Ah, im sure u did better than 700 - which is, anyway, a great score (no belittling intended).

That’s good news about Chemistry - congratz.

I took Physics and Maths 2 (im in England, and stupidly decided to take both late) I still have my SAT1 to take argh.
how were ur sat1’s?

What would my score be if I omitted 2 and got 3 wrong. Any chance for a 780?

I didn’t take Physics as an actual course so 700 for me is like Hooray…I omitted 7 and know I got around 20 wrong so it actually is really hard…
I have to take SAT1 for the first time as well on november 6th i think and im taking ACT for the first time next saturday
hope i do well on either one of them

Don’t worry, u’ll do fine.

I only started revising 2 days before for both, and was shocked by how hard Physics was. Math2 was expected to be hardish, but Physics - woah.

What do you think you got off/omitted in Phys, and M2?

For Math Level II, I omitted the two circle question. I got the ladder question wrong because I didnt change it into inches. I also got the f(x)=f inverse (x) are symmetrical about the x=y question wrong.
For Physics…I omitted a lot and got a lot wrong for sure. Im still unsure about some things. Like the 6 screens and light question. Also Quasars are considered star-like objects. Also the first question of the two carts. People say they bounce off with 3 m/s but others say 6 m/s since it is elastic and energy is conserved.

Oh, i didnt spot that elastic thing…what is the consensus?

can u tell me the question actually?

Well um i think it was like if the two carts collided and bounced off each other the first cart had a velocity of 6 m/s with 2 kg and the other cart was also 2 kg so if they are elastic then it would be 6 m/s for the second cart too wouldn’t it?

If the first one comes to a standstill, then yes. i am 100% sure it would move off at 6m/s, because e = 1, and thus speed of approach = speed of separation.

did you put 6 m/s?

Yeah, i did - i am 100% sure it’s correct.

Argh im so worried about my results. For the SAT1, do u have any tips?

Well when I prepped for it, I got 800 on math and 750 above in writing but critical reading is pretty hard for me…i need to know a lot of vocabs so i memorized like hardcore over the summer. Now im getting around 730 so im hoping I do pretty well. It’s a matter of practice really. I improved from 1860 to 2100 by doing more practice tests. And if the SAT doesnt work for u then its fine. There’s always the ACT. I do better in the ACT actually. It has Science and Math which Im really good at. Just have to work on reading and english then I can get around 35. No worries man.

so ipretty much ran out of time(i got up to like 39 and was pretty confident about most), and so i just guess the last 11 “D”

i know, brilliant. i just have a pet peeve about omits. seriously hate them and refuse to do it hahaha. anyone recall if any of the last 11 or 12 were D?? =D
