October 2010 - Math II

I think it may be possible that -8 is an 800, although I don’t know how likely that would be. The general consensus seems to be that the test was difficult, so let’s hope -8 = 800.

@TIMMYCHO0408- -6 was an 800 on CB’s practice-MUCH EASIER THAN THIS ONE…
Most of the ppl who gave this one think its tougher, isn’t -4 or 5 too tough. Should be -7 at least!

@yamster- Yeah… Hope , hope and hope!

@timmycho0408:
-7 has been an 800 before, and since most people found this test difficult it’s pretty unlikely -4 or -5 is the maximum number of points you can lose for an 800.

I have to agree since this test was DEFINITELY harder than the CB one and the CB one has a pretty lenient curve so this one should be a bit more…Generally speaking, I think the SAT subject tests for particular subjects were just ridiculously difficult: Math Level II, Physics, Biology…or am I the only one who thinks like this?

My friend said Physics was extraordinarily difficult, but he said Math 2 was easy, although he did take calc. Still, on the practice tests, I had about 10 minutes left for the Chem exam (and that was in Barron’s) and scored around 760-800, but I found some of the questions outside even the scope of Barron’s like colors. I might have gotten like 5-6 questions wrong on it. As for math, all I remember is that some questions took a long time unless you knew shortcuts, especially for the trig identities. Oh well, I can always retake in… December.

YES Physics was extraordinarily difficult that is so true

Oh gawd.
Skipped 2 and likely missed a few to mistakes.

Hoping for the 800…

i think the curve will be big. hopefully my prediction is correct, considering everyone thought it was hard…

The thing is, did last year’s test takers think their test was hard too?

i’ll be so happy if its -7

i’ll be so happy if its -10–12 lol… although i doubt it… closer to 10 the better it is…i dont remember how much i omitted, 10, 12, 14!!! but im sure i missed like 2 or so… so hoping for a 700+?

I thought this test was particularly easy. Several of the 40-50s I could do in 30 seconds.

The Stat question about STDev and range (number ~45) was a gimme.

…

Dudes, 2 omits and 10 wrong…what is that?

-14=36~ 700-720

I’ve got 2 omits and 3 wrong as of now.I seriously hope that -7 is an 800!

I thought the test was a little difficult, compared to the CB’s Practice tests. I easily got 800’s on both tests, but on this one I had to omit 7. This was madness… I hope I got all the questions I answered right

Two things. 6 omits and 2-3 wrong, what would that be? Around 750 I hope?

Also what did you guys get for the question. I can’t remember exactly what it was like, but there was an arrow pointing out a section on a circle on a graph I think, and you had to find out what the sin of the angle was? I said something like sin(235), but I totally chose the number by eyeing it…wasn’t really sure how to do it. Thoughts?

@nicolemk22: I believe it gave you the sides of a triangle and you needed to find the reference angle compared to the x-axis using trig, then add that to 180 and find the sin of that angle.
