October 2011 SAT General Discussion

It was No Error, all people agree.

Ok going back to the Critical reading, the one about nuclear energy. The tone of passage two was Caustic. I was confused between vehement and caustic. But ultimately decided with caustic. Anyone agree?

I put vehement

Sorry if this has been explained, but can someone please tell me why the answer is handling, rather than execution?
Execution - The technique or style with which an artistic work is produced or carried out.
If she’s writing a biography, wouldn’t this make the most sense?

does anyone know what the other options were for the caustic or vehement one? I don’t think I put either, but I MAY have put caustic. That was one of the ones I guessed on haha.

I thought execution was wrong because that and practice indicated as if she was actually carrying out the political ideas of the person, rather than “handling” (aka deciding how to deal with the various facets of the person’s life)

And it is handling not execution because handling went better with the wording. It said handling her words or ideas or something like that and you can handle those better then you can execute them. It would have made sense if it said like “execute these within her writing of the biography” but she isn’t the actual one executing them. She is handling them. Sorry i don’t know if i explained that well, but i’m 100% sure its handling.

I thought it was more like “managing” the biography. Neither execution nor handling.

definitely handling

I though it was vehement because emphatic and vehement are both very forceful in diction; vehement is more appropriate because it is in a critical manner, JMO

What did you guys put for the Walden question: The impact of “movement”, I thought it was It was some losses some gains: C.

^that is right.

And the author’s attitude toward Walden was : ?

Ask more questions guys. I remember most of the test >

@nurture
do you remember the exact question for the New Zealand one?

did the one about systolic something…was it in an experimental section?

does anyone want to list the answer to every critical reading question they can remember? or compline the general consensus of questions people have put the answers to up on here? haha i’m trying to figure out how many i missed haha. i know i missed a couple but i wonder how many i really missed.

compile* haha idk why i typed compline lmao

@nikanon Can you elaborate more, I dont think it was on my test.

@skepticidal I don’t think so. Because one of the CR was experimental.

so i had an experimental cr section but i can’t exactly remember what was in it. haha it definitely wasnt the blockbuster thing people keep saying but a different experimental. was the traveling/lost passage experimental? what else was in that section?

This question and answer are just random for anyone interested. The math question with median 86 with 101 consecutive integers, the smallest integer must be 36 A. Any comments?
