October 2011 SAT General Discussion

Does anyone know the answer to number 16 on the 16 problem math section. The problem had to do with two circles overlapping each other. Please reply.

so, you just circled it, and didn’t bubble it? Did you sit right next to him? That really sucks… 15 min is really a Lot of time… I would cancel my score I’d i were you

panmit2… you sound like one of those annoying kids that I took the sat with today. No offense. You sound like the type of person that would have done something wrong, but then again I wasn’t there. If your proctor was in the wrong then I’m sorry.

The problem with the overlapping circles was E) something like 98 pi + 68

I think the circle problem’s already discussed on te first few pages… The answer’s E

@procrastinator02 I think it was 98pi + 64

What was the answer to systolic diastolic problem? The fraction out of 24. That problem was worded so weirdly.

@ClassOf2012Girl oops yeah
with my short term memory i don’t get how people can memorize so many questions and answers from todays test x)

none taken, when he said open your test booklet and Go, and I circled it on the booklet. Some other proctor told me I already started blah blah blah.

I feel like it was 10/24 which was 5/12

@Nurture; I want to say that it was 5/12. I remember a 5.

@Nurture
draw the horizontal and vertical limits on the graph and just count the dots.

@panmit2 dang your proctors are tough…
my proctor was chilling on his macbook the whole time and gave us an extra minute cause some kid threw up in my classroom x)

aahhh I know right?
I missed -2 in Math
and -1 or 3 max in writing, 10-12 essay
and ****ed up in CR -13 or 15 ish

What do you guys think i got

This is the reply to fishes processing like humans question: I think the answer is not no error because it wasn’t proper parallel structure. It was C something.

My proctor was kind of medium. Also, some kid’s cell phone went off and she did absolutely NOTHING about it, yet she spent extra time making sure my calculator was approved because I had the most advanced calculator in the class. I was using a TI nspire CAS and everyone else had like little pocket calculators haha #awk.

if there were more than one proctor… I guess you can’t really argue… But I think once he took your test… They can’t just give you back after sometime… I heard of cases from CC that some kids were caught cheating… And their scores just got cancelled … Nothing else happened

The one where each circle had like 270 degrees or something?
It was the one with 96pi+64

Reason:
You had two circles, each with a fourth NOT intersecting the other, so you would do (3/4)(pi)(8^2)x2 (Because it’s two circles) + 88
The 88 comes from the square you can draw between the two circles because two vertices would lie on the points of intersection, and two were the centers of the circles themselves.

… a fish, like a human, processes… I don’t think that was wrong

I said no error for the fish and human one too.
