2130 overall which is ok for my first time taking it, but I really need to get my math score up and write a better essay!! I’m taking the November SAT & my goal is a 2250 so fingers crossed!! xx

March: 600 CR, 550 M, 570 W (-8, 6E) -> 1720
October: 650 CR, 610 M, 770 W (-2, 10E) -> 2030

I’m super happy about my increased score, but annoyed with my math score. In March, I misplaced my grid-in answers. In October, all my math sections were toward the end of the test, by which time I had developed a headache (and probably a fever, as I had one the night before) and thus I knew right after the test I had messed math up. Thing is, I know I can do better on Math (I got 680 on a practice test, and March would have been in that range but for my misplaced answers), but I don’t know if that’s enough reason to retake it.

Since I’m too indecisive to make up my mind, I want to hear some of your opinions. To give some other information, I’m not applying to any Ivys. For most school I’m looking at, my second score is on par or above their data. However, I’ve also always been a top math student, so I don’t know if 550 and 610 scores would be perceived poorly, and if they would significantly affect my ability to get math scholarships.

i took a mock SAt without knowing what it really was and got 16XX
in otober i only got 2050
it is not good enough because of no preparation for writing…
hope i can got 22XX next time.

@xariel yeah i think you should retake it. are you a senior? a lot of colleges like to look at your math score depending on your major… since math is like application of concepts. i even read that some schools dont even take into accohnt your writing score, which for you and me (i got 800 but my other subjects were lacking), could be really detrimental. math is not that difficult to raise if you do a lot of practice and get a strategy going! we’re in the same boat- our writing scores are significantly higher than the other subjects’. i’m definitely taking it again to hopefully get 750+ in math. i know im capable of it and you know you are capable of a better score too so i say why not :)

@heyhihello Yeah, I’m a senior. I was also thinking about the major aspect too, since I’d like to major in exercise science and/or neuroscience. Another alternative I’m considering is taking the SAT II Math II test, since I’m currently in AP Calc AB and it would require less of a time commitment to study for than another SAT test. But would that really matter or make my SAT I Math less significant? Additionally, I’ve already sent the above scores, and a 690 Chemistry SAT II, to three colleges, so they would see that I’ve taken the SAT three times if I send another report in December.

2100; 800 cr/680 m/620 w (8 essay) - first time, no studying

eh. going to retake in december. subject tests in four days. my writing score really stings - everyone i know says that i’m a good writer, but my score here really didn’t reflect that (though i’m not saying that the sat is a good indicator of writing skills). i was also stubborn and answered everything. congrats to everyone for the great scores!

HEYY GUYS. I’m new here and I really like this website, it’s awesome. Okay, my worries are Trig. I have no help in Trig and I need it. Proof? I got a 42 out of 100 on my test. Do you guys know any free Trig prep that is offered in any programss??
