***October 2015 SAT (US Only) Thread***

@concreteolives thank you so much! you just gave me hope haha hoping for a 2150 and above

@Adamtestaker that’s great that I can take the physics 1 test, I wasn’t really expecting that when I first signed up for the class so I’m super happy I can get more credit if whatever college I go to even accepts it. thanks! good luck as well!

Can someone create a chat room???

Are the scores released at exactly 5 am or is it in the vicinity? I know it doesn’t matter. Just wondering so I can stop huddling over my phone tonight.

@CCswami well it’s never been later for me. Though I haven’t ever really checked earlier. Once I refreshed a couple of times and it was 5 exactly though. I know that doesn’t help. But I did check at 3 am once and it was not up. So probably later than that at least. I really think it’s five though exactly

Ok.

Regardless, I’m not sleeping tonight for sure.

Hey everyone! What were your last scores, and October’s when they come out tomorrow?
I had spring of last year (I know I’m not one of you really high scorers):
660 M
620 W (8 E)
630 CR
1920 total, hoping on this one to get a 2150, which would be an epic score increase even though a 2150 isn’t that good.

I know you’re all stressed and you’ve heard this a thousand times but really really important that scores aren’t everything.touring and looking into colleges I’ve found great fits across the range of the ranks. I used to think fit was just made up to make people feel better. But really, there is such thing and if you do a good job looking for schools that fit what you’re looking for across a range of acceptance rates, you’ll end up happy wherever you go and it’ll all be okay. stay positive you can all do great things (:

@Runners I got a 2000 (640R 710M 650 W) last test. To be fair though, I haven’t really had a fair test, because the first time I got snowed out and had to do a February make up, and the second time is when CB screwed up that June test. Im hoping for a 1450+ 2 part, and the fact that I think I got 800 math makes that entirely plausible

@donquixote @yolomaster98 I also put “dainty” and think that question wasn’t fair. Does Collegeboard generally do all their edits (i.e. taking out faulty questions) before releasing the scores or afterwards?

@IvyHopeful98 Haha yeah good luck you should be able to. This test my proctor gave us 2 less minutes than we were supposed to have that was outlined in the book but she wouldn’t let us have those two min to finish, but luckily it was on CR and not math so I think I would have gotten those questions wrong anyways…

@Runners I’m really bad at CR, so it wouldn’t have hurt me either haha. I hoping that if I managed 800 math, that I pulled at least 660 reading. That would put me in a more competitive position by far at my top choice

lol looks like we are looking for identical scores pretty much. I think I got an 800 in math because wow that was easy for me and I had time to double check everything, if I didn’t then I only missed a couple from stupid mistakes that maybe I just read too quickly over (which shows in my CR scores lol). And yeah for CR I’m hoping for 650-700 because I honestly can never tell when I do well in that section. In all the practice tests from the blue book I could never predict my score, but it ranged from 650-700 (with one 790 but I thought that was an anomaly) so thats the only reason I am predicting within that range for cr lol. What is your top choice?

I thought I would be panicked at this point, but I’m strangely relaxed. I’m ambitious like a lot of you guys and want a competitive score, but it’s important to keep in mind that we aren’t defined by a number. I already feel proud just thinking about how I pushed myself for this test, and I urge you guys to take pride in your own work as well. Whatever happens tomorrow, hold your head high. You deserve to.

Good luck everyone! Hopefully we all get the score we want!

@donquixote @yolomaster98 @ambitionsquared I put dainty as well, so you’re not alone. I feel really stupid now though…

Anyways, it’s just one test… there’s more to life than just one test score. :stuck_out_tongue:

I put finicky mainly because I never heard of dainty. But looking it up now, they seem to be synonyms in certain dictionaries.

@Runners Notre Dame. Im currently sitting 50 points below the bottom 25%, so a 1450 would throw me into the 50ish%, which I think gives me a pretty good shot at getting in due to the other parts of my app. Where are you looking to go?

@azwu331 I feel stupid about some of the other questions (I said “trace the origins” ugh), but I don’t feel stupid about the dainty/finicky one. If I were to do the question again, I still wouldn’t have any way of reasoning between the 2 answers
