2-3? 1-2? I’m not sure…considering…i’ve never gotten that high of score! haha. je ne sais pas. ><

i took it at the end of soph year.

and don’t think of me as a genius or anything, i’m just really motivated. to the point of obsession. i think that’s what got me the scores i got.
i really messed up my freshman psat (53 CR, 51 M, 57 W, 161 total), and that kinda motivated me to get better. i basically bought a million prep books and did all the problems in them.

i think 1 wrong

i missed 2 on june CR and still got an 800

“and don’t think of me as a genius or anything, i’m just really motivated. to the point of obsession. i think that’s what got me the scores i got.

-you took the psat in freshman year? crazy. >< i forgot all about sat’s when i was a freshman…god I feel so old. obsessed? over sat’s? you’re kidding…that’s so…um…weird. XD I’m like: manga! all the time.
-oh… haha…I like did nothing…for sat’s until summer before junior year, last year.
November is my last time! OH NOES! ><

ok.
basically everybody in my family did awesome on their SATs.
my brothers and sisters scored like 220 on their freshman psats
so it looked really bad when i got a 161
i dk
i just didn’t want to be left out lol

hmm I’m guessing i missed 3-5 (put industry for shakespeare and it seems as though that is wrong, and also put more affordable for jewelry and think thats wrong too)…i got all the sentence completions right though, so thats a good start…

The guild’s approach was a practical means to their ideal.

…

im pretty sure it is medieval regression.

the whole passage talked about how they wanted to go back to the old days.

Do you guys remmber the question in the CARS passage about how passage 1 would respod to passage 2s decription of the city as “no place”?

I chose Amusing exaggeration. Im pretty sure thats the correct answer, anyone else? The other choice was “reflective of the state of affairs”

patricklin, Practical ideals was the correct answer. second to last sentence mentions how the only way they were to realize their ideals was to form factions/guilds. Therefore its Practical means of realizing ideals. it was very straight foward if you took the time to read the lines it gave you.

its reflective of the state of affairs…

its not an amusing exaggeration… cuase passage 1 does believe that it is a “Noplace”.

im almost 100 percent sure.

o-o;;;
wow haha no wonder. I’m like: 2110? Psh good enough. Dad: NO! You won’t be able to go to private college! And I’m like: Psh. I’ll just go to UC’s…

what were the other choices for that car prob? I already got that entire passage wrong. haha

the answer was the latter, a reflective state of the affairs.

bc the author of passage 1 was basically saying that cars were reducing the cities to rubble and what not

and the author of passage 2 basically said…ok, you’re right. but so what? it’s not really doing too much damage

so naturally, the author of p 1 would agree with the first part of p 2

right??

amusing exaggeration…thats another one i may have gotten wrong…I put something about the author of passage 1 thinking it was true

No, “no place” was more colloquial. Passage one was derisive, sure, but he was simply saying that there arnt enough for the popel, and its dulling the city. Must be a amusing exageration. Amusing would imly he agrees, and exaggeration because passage 2 calls the place a “no place”, but passage one just says that theres not much for the people.

Again, this has been settled. Practical ideals was the correct answer. The “guilds” werent form b/c they wanted to go back to medieval times, it was stated in the second to last line in that paragraph that it wasthe only PrACTICAL mean of realizing their ideals.

omg it’s only been a day–and I’ve completely forgotten what I put. great… I THINK I put reflective of the state of affair. or whatnot. but I’m not sure…

i think this CR will have a good curve…the passages were pretty hard in my opinion

does anyone remember any of the other answers to the “guild” question besides “practical ideals”?? thanks

Other chocies were
B.regression into medieval times
C.something
D.To suit the needs of the wealthy
E.Innovative approch to mass production

C was the answer right? Practical ideals= C?

(A) was practical ideals.
