October 4 SAT Critical Reading

does anyone remember the words tendentious or effervescent? its from 2 different SC sections

Uh. Traditional is the synonym of conventional…

that doesn’t mean they have the exact same meaning

Edifying still fails.

One of the answers I remember putting was, in the jewelery section, saying they were both made for individuals or something like that. Anyone remember the question? Or the other answers - perhaps the one that was correct?

Edifying still fails.

I’m not going to even continue to argue with you if you’re going to blatantly ignore the fact that inscrutable is OBVIOUSLY incorrect in the sentence.

I think the answer is that, like many other SAT CR questions, it was a terrible set of answers. Pedestrian/Exhaustive is perfect. Inscrutable/Edifying wouldn’t even get a second glance.

Okay, can someone who has read this entire thread please answer based on most peoples’ results:

Is candor an answer choice?
Is it humorous or derisive?
What is the main idea question for the Shakespeare paragraph?

Thank you so much!

candor was not a correct answer

humorous vs. derisive is still being debated

I’m not sure what you’re referring to

Sweet thank you. what were the answer choices besides candor? I am referring to the:

-some periods of Shakespeare’s life are unknown
-Shakespeare generates industry

question

the mystery vs. genius vs. industry debate is also unresolved

please, does anyone remember the words tendentious or effervescent in SC ?

ahh the suspense. i put mystery but im leaning toward industry now. shucks. i also put humorous and have no idea about that one. ohh welll… i will try to more on :)

Inscrutable/exhausting isn’t as good as pedestrian/edifying.

The structure of the sentence makes it so that the blanks have opposite connotations or meanings. Pedestrian/edifying fulfills this because pedestrian means boring or dull, and edifying means enlightening or illuminating.

Haha, I can’t wait for the 23rd when the answers come out.

What were other choices for candor SC?

Though I put inscrutable, there’s no way that’s the answer. I just plain guessed.

what was the sentence of the candor/inscrutable question and other answer choices?
anyone.

man… i cant focus on hw now :(

oh and for the 2nd shakespeare question, there was easily aquainted and easily recognized, which one was it?

^closely acquainted and easily recognized.
I put easily recognized at first and then changed it to closely acquainted…

me too!

I put easily acquainted b/c usually the vernacular definition is wrong, but easily acquainted seems awkward…
