October Sales Week

The kids’ Kindle is $114, and it is just a Paperwhite with a cover and branded for kids. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BL8S6ZPT/

We have the digital version of that air fryer/toaster oven. It’s been great. Our controls are a little counter intuitive. They have apparently improved that in the more recent updated version of that model.

Didn’t find anything I needed to buy at amazon. I mean I buy plenty but nothing in the sale spoke to me today.

Bought a pair of boots which may or may not fit from Nordstrom along with a pair of black pants. The boots were a very good markdown, the pants were so so but I decided a black pair of pants is a good thing to have.

I got a new phone last week. The touch screen is all off for me. I apologize for any confusion

Bought a bunch of toddler pants and shirts off Amazon. Nothing too exciting

I bought som dishwasher pod things and phone adapters (usb-usbc, lightening -c, and reverse). Meh.

I got some items from DRMTLY because they were slightly cheaper than when they go on sale for 20%. Now I have them stocked up and will wait for the next 20% sale and not have to worry about running out before them.

A Shark rug shampooer. I have a bulky one that doesn’t do a great job. I also have a huge dog that drools (drool actually stains carpets red) and I really need to try to save my carpets. I can’t replace them til the dog dies (harsh, I know).

My favorite purchase though, was Lindt (dairy free) Oatmilk Truffles. I am able to get them at my local grocery store, but they have a value pack that was a great purchase (15 oz for less than what I usually pay for 2X 5 oz packages.

I was hoping for litre bottles of Lus shampoo and their Irish Moss gel, but not only weren’t they on sale, they didn’t even have them.

So glad to hear that! I was reading customer reviews of the digital model with the digital screen malfunctioning after a bit, so I’m glad that you have a good one!

I may have gone a bit wild today. Picked up three air fryer cookbooks, another book, a set of tea bag organizers, a pair of alpaca socks (only 20% off, but they’ve been on my wishlist since February and it’s the first time there’s been any discount), and the kids paperwhite kindle as I’ve been thinking about getting one and I’m going on a trip soon where I will probably have a lot of time to read. But the only things that weren’t already on my wishlist were the air fryer cookbooks and that particular Paperwhite Kindle (I’ve been waiting for the Paperwhite Signature to go on sale but decided to stop waiting and pulled the trigger instead). But since I love kid’s lit, the one-year subscription to Amazon Kids is actually a bonus for me.

My husband’s Skechers are falling apart… Zappos/Amazon to the rescue! That’s another purchase today.

Also couldn’t resist and made an impulse purchase. A wooden climbing gym for the toddler to keep her busy indoors when it is too wet for us to go outside.

I don’t know if this counts, but a couple of weeks ago I found a very comfortable grey Danskin slip on at TJMaxx for $20. I liked it so much during Rosh Hashona services that I tracked it down online yesterday, hoping to find a second pair. I found it in green at Macy’s with a discount code and cost $35. (Half my casual clothes are green.) Not on sale today!

Those are nice! LOL - It was a shoe day for me too.

Normally I do the same Saucony runnng shoes (Omin 19 and similar. Reviews for the current Omni 21 version were not encouraging, so I tried these Mizuno Wave runners ($46, regular $140) that I saw described in an article, supposedly good good for support, cushioning

I didn’t really have the time or mental bandwidth yesterday to “shop” Amazon or otherwise.

But this morning picked up two things - one a PRIME DEAL and other just cause I liked it, lol, and will post here just because it could be a fun gift idea.

My deal was these 1/2 sheet pans. My current ones are SAD looking though functional. Time for an upgrade.

This is not on sale but will be appreciated. A trivet “tree”. I cook/bake a lot and currently am using years old Ikea cork trivets that are in pretty rough shape! I’ll keep the best of the 6 I have but thought this tree would be fun and practical right next to the stove.

I ended up buying a couple of things for my sophomore daughter last night. She’s in a campus apartment this year and last night asked if I could get her a vacuum, a couple of good knives for cooking, and a cutting board. I did some quick research and bought all things that were supposedly a “prime big deal” so that was the extent of my Amazon shopping so far.

I’m on the fence about buying the kids’ Kindle or the Paperwhite. There is a lot of speculation that a new design is coming out soon. I feel like once that happens the older ones will be more heavily discounted. But I’m also curious to seem if they will have a new “basic” Kindle along with the Paperwhite as I prefer the smaller size of the basic one and I don’t need a waterproof device.

I have no one to buy this for but sure looks like it could make some young (or old!) Star Wars fan happy!!

I needed some last-minute gifts to bring for my friends grandkids when we go there for dinner Friday night, and I decided to restock a little bit of my “bring toys for the grandkids” closet, but by the time I put everything in the basket and played around with that, I missed the next day delivery that I wanted for Friday’s gifts since I don’t know what time they will arrive! So I had to rearrange and find some things that would show up tomorrow. And I hope they make it. In the meantime, the things that were supposed to come Friday are now coming Monday! Ack

I bought a few things: a stand to hold a Dyson cordless vac (I’d bought one for myself a few weeks ago) for D1 and SIL–and it was $15 less than I paid for it.

Also bought a wall clock, picture hangers so I could hang the clock and the prints I’d brought with me in the move… and my splurge a Duxtop double induction burner for my new kitchen area. I thought about waiting and asking for the burner for Xmas, but the price is a big reduction from the list.

I’m eyeing the Breville Smart Countertop Air Fryer Pro Convection Oven. I’ve been wanting one for a while now. First for my apartment, now for dry kitchen area.

I may still go for it. Great price.

If anyone is ordering from Macys don’t forget Rakuten. I think it’s 15% rebate right now.

My mom has the Breville Air Fryer Pro and she really likes it.

And yes, Amazon’s shipping is really all over the place. After feedback from my mom, I am getting my grandmother a puzzle. The earliest it can possibly arrive is Tuesday, October 15. I’ll take my $1 digital credit and have it arrive the 17th, but yes, the shipping delay for “Prime” shipping is ridiculous.

Also, the Cuisinart air fryer toaster oven is no longer available! Well, the stainless steel one is no longer available and the black and white ones are still $220 (vs. $99 for the one I got), so I’m happy I pulled the trigger when I did!

My son wanted an air fryer/oven for his birthday (yes really) and I wasn’t going to spend the $$ on the Breville since this one was highly rated by wire cutter. He and his family seem to like it https://a.co/d/iNuXMIM
