This is a public relations nightmare, no matter how they tried to spin it.

It is a miracle the children were all born alive…but beyond that, it is hard to be joyous. So many of the families of the higher order multiples have said just how complicated it is to raise a large family in this way.

If she had been an insured patient, with no other children at home (or maybe one or two), not on disability and using food stamps/SSI income, I think the PR would have gone much, much differently. Instead, she just appears to be a leech on the already overburdened social system and medical ethics gone astray.

That’s why I was saying earlier that her PR firm misguided her in a way to think that it would be OK to be seen out getting a manicure or shopping for videos.

And if she is personally worried about death threats, she sure is out in public on her own just fine.

CAN YOU SPELL: narcissistic personality disorder (NPD)

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following and has a grandiose sense of self-importance
is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
believes that he or she is “special” and unique
requires excessive admiration
has a sense of entitlement
is interpersonally exploitative
lacks empathy
is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her
shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

One of the narcissistic qualities of octomom not named above is that she is confused about blame. (Nothing is her fault because she is special, and she wants it, so… ) She says she is screwed up because her parents raised her as an only child? I think they’ve paid the price, Nadya. I mean, I cannot figure out how her household runs. She’s out getting Elvira nails? Who is cooking the meals for 8, doing the 100 dishes each day, running the 10+ loads of laundry a week? Surely her mom can’t be doing all the housework and taking care of 6 active kids, including toddler twins.

PS: there have been posts implying that despite the controversy, companies have been making donations of goods. MSNBC is reporting that only 2 companies have made any type of a donation, and one made the donation in Jan shortly after the birth of the octuplets, and before all was know about the family.

"Surprise! Seems Nadya Suleman wasn’t telling the truth about the Calvary Chapel Golden Springs (located near Whittier in Diamond Bar) helping her and her 14 kids financially, spiritually or otherwise.

And she definitely isn’t known to their pastors or staff. I know. It’s shocking, isn’t it?

The church released this statement:

"In response to recent inquires and media reports, Calvary Chapel Golden Springs is issuing this statement regarding several inaccurate assumptions regarding our involvement with Nadya Suleman, the Whittier mother of octuplets.

"Nadya Suleman has recently commented she attends Calvary Chapel Golden Springs, which prompted several media follow up inquires concerning her attendance. Since our church is not membership-driven, we are unable to confirm or deny whether she actively attends this fellowship.

“We can say, however, that she is not personally known to our pastors or staff. And to the best of our knowledge, Ms. Suleman’s only contact with us was a minor inquiry regarding our Children’s Ministry.”

The church writes that although Suleman and her camp has commented that the church is in involved with the establishment of a foundation for donation distribution, providing her with financial assistance and helping her locate a new residence, it most certainly is not. “Our church is not involved in any of these activities,” the statement says…

"Her eldest is seven-year-old Elijah, who has attention deficit disorder and is hyperactive, daughter Amerah is six, and son Joshua Jacob — or JJ — is five.

Then there is Aidan, three, who is autistic, and the two-year-old twins, Caleb and his sister Calyissa, who has speech difficulties…

Despite having no job, Nadya can afford to pay a nanny around $500 a week to look after the older kids Monday through Friday. “She works overtime and doesn’t ask for more money. She does 12-hour days,” she tells The Sun.

Nadya insists to The Sun that she is not on welfare but receives around $500 of food stamps a month. “The only reason I applied for them is that I have put Elijah in a private school. He needs tutoring to stay focused.

“But I am not on welfare where you get cash aid for children. I have never got that.”

But she’s open to financial help, telling the Sun: “If anyone wants to donate, it would be for resources for the kids. I can accept that…

There are so many allegations that just cannot be true. She has no income. She gets $490 a month in foodstamps. She has Elijah in private school. She collects Social Security Disability for three of her six older children. She pays a nanny $500 a week. She’s going to be getting help from Calvary Chapel in Whittier. She’s getting donations from companies.

That says a lot. Back before she was the UN humanitarian and mother of six, Jolie used to wear a necklace with a vial of blood of her beloved, Billy Bob Thornton.

Happy Valentine’s Day? Eww. That’s just icky.
